Why has no one been able to come up with a cookie recipe better than tollhouse?
Additional Details
Rosie and LBRocker - I agree.
Juicy and Misty: I might try these variations.

I'm sorry, but these are WAY better than tollhouse
The Neiman-Marcus Cookie
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
2 1/2 cups blended oatmeal (blend in a blender to a fine powder)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
12 oz. chocolate chips
4 oz. hershey bar (grated)
1 1/2 cups chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream the butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Add chocolate chips, hershey bar, and nuts. Roll into balls, and place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 or 11 minutes.

Most of the really good recipes have been handed down for generations. That is the case with Toll house cookies, it is a tried and true recipe.

I have lots of cookie recipes infinitely better than Tollhouse. No disrespect, but those are some of the most flavorless excuses for chocolate chip cookies I've ever encountered.
