How do you prevent makeup from melting in hot weather?

I have a formal at night, so I might have a lot on, but hopefully it will be cooler at night. Live in Sydney.

Apply a foundation primer beforehand, preferably one that absorbs oil - Monistat Chafing Relief Powder-gel, Smashbox Photofinish primer, Mary Kay oil mattifier, etc.
After you apply your foundation, use a transluscent powder to set it so it lasts even longer :)
When the weather is very hot, powder foundation is definitely better, but if you have dry skin, try a sweatproof foundation, I recommend Revlon ColorStay Light with SPF 25. And use the two steps listed above before and after :)
