Can vitamin D-3 make you hyper.....?

I've been taking vitamin D-3 for 2 weeks now. I take 2000 UI a day. I find that I am hyper and I have trouble sleeping. Can this be caused by the vitamin intake or is it just a coincidence?

Normal D-3 supplements shouldn't cause insomnia, but a lack of vitamin D will cause sleep disturbances.

An overdose of D-3 tends to cause fatigue, not hyperactivity.

If you are vitamin deficient, taking supplements can boost your energy level, but the only one that causes obvious hyperactivity and sleep loss (that I'm familiar with), is niacin, otherwise known as B3. It can cause tingling, and flushing (hot flashes). I can't take niacin, and must take niacinamide instead, as normal niacin makes me feel like I'm on speed.

Thank you Suzi, I think I'll stay away from the niacin too:) I am vitamin deficient. Didn't take any and started with the D-3. I think I'll cut down to 1 instead of 2.Tx:)
