I found a natural wooden chest how do i get it dry please read?
i just found it tonight it's been raining how do i get it dry will i just leave it in the hallway and leave it to dry there or is there another idea as i have plans to varnish on a later date please help tips would be great full.
Additional Details
i like to say i dont normaly pick things of the street but went passed it earlier with nothing wromg ith with so thought i wouldgrab and paint and turn it into a space for my laundry chest .

raise it up off the floor with some blocks or something and place an electric fan ( preferably an oscillating fan) nearby to hasten evaporation. using a rag on any puddles within would go long way also. the sooner its dry the less chance the wood will warp.

I would get it up off of the floor so that the air can circulate around the chest and not wet your floor. You may want to put some blocks under it. I would move the blocks every day or so, so that it will allow the area under the blocks to dry as well. Just leave it to dry on its own.

Just leave it somewhere warm and dry and it will dry out. Putting something under it so the bottom can get air at it is a good idea, or change its position every day or so.
