You are not alone!! First, keep up with the "pick-up" and make sure you wash the dishes and wipe counters in kitchen at least once per day; any spills, wipe up with a floor sponge immediately! Same goes with bathroom - keep sink, toilet, and tub/shower clean. After shower is scrubbed, wipe down window sill each time you use and edges of tub with a sponge and then spray that "cleaner" which reduces spotting on the tile and the shower liner. Make bed every day and take trash and recyclebles out several times a week. While watching TV, dust that room.. I use a bucket filled with hot water and white vinegar (1 part vinegar to 3 parts water) using rags from sheets to clean and wipe all mirrors, glass on pictures, TV's, any glass knick-knacks, etc. For some reason, this keeps that kind of stuff cleaner than using windex or other glass cleaner and no streaks! Others had a great idea with the CD playing but I guess they do not mind cleaning. Trying to get someone to "help" just never seems to happen; shame, as if we all helped each other out with this cleaning crap - all our places would be clean and it would at least be fun! Keep a soft brush and dust pan close by as it helps to wisk up some dirt brought in, cat litter the cat drug out, etc. Keep up w/laundry. This just makes it a bit easier when someone IS coming over and you then really have to clean. If someone just drops by, then the place is picked up and with kitchen and bath clean, the rest looks clean! IT's a hateful job - to some of us. Unmotivated, myself - enter those contest/sweepstakes for a "maid for a year or better yet, lifetime " Someone Wins!!! Sasha
