Why do people pay so much attention to Zodiac signs?

Why do people think that based on the time of year you are born makes you more likely to be attracted to someone? I find this highly dubious as to whether or not there is any connection at all, just a load of rubbish. Do you really believe this, and if so why?

In modern day times when we are encouraged by the media not to believe it unless we can see it, I understand your confusion, however it is a fact that for a person skilled in reading the stards, for the most part, you can rightly guess an individuals traits and qualities just by knowing their sign. Certain zodiac signs go better with others, in some countries, like India, it used to be very common to check your partners sign before making the big decision. Sounds crazy, but it worked, the divorce rate there even now is hardly anything in comparison to America.

For me zodiac signs have always proven true. Most of my friends are gemini's, some Aries. I'm Saggittarius. I suggest you get a few books about it from your local library, you'll learn a lot.
