How do I get my biscuits to cook even. most of the time the bottom burns before the top is done?

Right now I'm pulling them out(after many months of eating burnt biscuits), flip them over and finish cooking. That works but I know it's not the best way.

Are you sure that your oven works correctly? Sounds like you need to get an oven thermometer and test your oven. Or, perhaps when you moved into your apartment the oven rack was all the way at the bottom of the oven and you thought that's where it belonged. (My son did this). Move the lower one to the middle of the oven.

Also, there seems to be a notion that the tops of biscuits should be a lot browner than they need to be.
Mine are darker on the bottom than the top. If the tops are slightly browned (maybe even a little white in spots) and the biscuit is cooked through, then they are done.

And, canned, Bisquick or scratch? Pre-heat the oven. It's important.

Bisquick and scratch biscuits bake at 425 degrees for 9 to 12 minutes.
