First of all, enjoy yourself and don't be afraid to experiment. Sex can be a lot of fun and there's nothing at all wrong with doing something unusual.

Second, yes be open-minded, but remember that you never have to do anything that you find (too) painful or psychologically demeaning, or that your partner finds painful or demeaning either. You both can say "no" at any time and that doesn't mean you don't love each other or are not attracted to each other.

Third, keep a happy, fun-loving attitude about it. You obviously don't want sex with your partner to become boring, or you wouldn't be asking the question. If you have an objection to doing something your partner suggests, say so -- but if it's just something you haven't thought about very much, at least consider it; if you can't think of a good objection to it then hey, maybe give it a try even if it doesn't seem like your cup of tea right away.

With that said, here's my suggestions:

Have you used pornography? Get a movie or a magazine and try to do what the models are doing. Or just enjoy viewing it until you can't stand it anymore and get all over your partner for a short, but intense, workout. If you think porno is too sleazy, find a copy of the Kama Sutra, an ancient text about sexual pleasure from India.

Role-playing and costume play are fun for a lot of people. There's a reason sexy costumes are so popular -- they're not just for Halloween anymore. Or you and your partner could travel separately to a bar somewhere, both pretend to be other people, and one of you could seduce the other while you're playing the roles of other people.

Some products can help, too -- different kinds of lubricants, condoms, or sex toys.

Finally, and probably best of all -- ask yourself what sorts of things you think about when you are pleasuring yourself. Don't be afraid to share your fantasies with your partner -- if he's any kind of a man at all, learning what you fantasize about will turn him on too, and make him eager to bring your fantasies to life. If you don't have any ideas that sound interesting, ask him and see if he has any ideas that you'd be willing to try.
