Boy vs. girl squirrels caught in a cage trap?

Question

We catch squirrels in out back yeard by trapping them in a cage and set them free in an open space a few miles away. But we notice the boy squirrels are almost always trying to get out while the girls just sit there quietly in the cage. Why is that ?

LOL its really easy to tell on a squirrel.

We think the boys are trying to solve the problem while the girls just sit there and cry.

Males are more aggressive than the girls.
In all species, the boys are more aggressive.

That about says it - its pretty obvious when we watch the squirrels.

and exactly how do you know if it is a boy or girl, lift up there tails and look.
