I need some one who is an expert on covering up ?

Question

My sister and her friends graffiti-ed on the walls of her room she has know moved out she used permanent marker highlighters and other markers that need to be covered up as that room will be my son's room and Cf's has a house assessment that will be observing that room by dec 1st what paint can i use to cover the ceilings and walls need help asap will give 10 points to anyone who has an answer to this and if they know if it works for sure

An oil based primer is what you need, Kilz make a latex and oil based primer but the latex version might not cut it for the permanent makers. Most paint stores should carry Kilz or something similar. The oil base will definitely work but is quite noxious (think gasoline smell). So make sure you ventilate the room, use a fan to blow out the fumes. Once it cures you can safely use any latex paint you choose :).

you need to use a good primer like Kilz... maybe even two coats, then paint with a good quality paint.

If your planning on repainting you could go to a local janitors wearhouse and get graffiti remover, heavy latex gloves and a scrub brush. Its very strong and will cut anything. I volunteered for the city on a grafiti clean up every year we just put it in a spray bottle and go around the city, works like a charm but strips any type of paint. so be careful.

uses kilz over the markings, then use a better paint - cheap stuff will require a 2nd coat......you don;t have time so get some behr or valspar from home dept or lowes.....i used american traditions by valspar (lowes or home depot cant remember) and it was WAY better than the walmart stuff....walmart pain needed 2 coats while the valspar was one and done----of course both i used kilz primer

You will have to use a primer to cover the marker. I use primer as final coat as well by having the store that mixes your color put the color into primer instead of regular paint. It covers so much better. Use a latex water base too.
