How has eating organic made a difference in your life?
I would love to start eating all natural/organic foods, but sometimes I wonder if it actually makes a difference. I know that there are less chemicals on/in the food, and it's better for you, but I'd like to hear from everyday people as well :)

Local is more important than organic. What good is organic food when it's not local? Hello! There are still carbon emissions that come from having to transport the food. Organic, local food is best, then local food, then organic.
The only thing organic food has done for me is put a bigger hole in my pocket book. The organic food industry is ridiculous, IMO. I don't think there is anything wrong with organic, but with the industry? Definitely. The INDUSTRY is such a freaking scam, IMO.
And it's not always better for you. The "natural" pesticides that are used for organic farming can actually sometimes cause MORE harm than the chemicals used in conventional agriculture. That definitely isn't always the case, but I wish people would stop equating organic with healthy. There's organic cheesecake; is that healthy? No. Organic may be better for the planet, but it's not *always* better for us.

I try best to eat organic especially dairy and meat because they are free of steroids and hormones. There is no immediate effect I can feel, but I believe those chemicals contribute to growth of cyst and lumps in the body, and ultimately to cancer or other side effects.
