Is it rude to bring another artist's work and ask for something similar?

It's just some generic simple outline of a tattoo.
I don't want it exactly like that but I want to bring that in for just the reference.

Nothing wrong with that at all. Eliminates a lot of the 'guess-what-I'm-thinking of' game. Wish more people would do that.
