Thinking about getting a tattoo? easy 10 points.?
So I plan on getting a tattoo for being able to change myself
loosing weight and being able to get up after I fell into a depression.
I wanna get a butterfly designed by myself to represent a metamorphosis? should i go for it
My mom and me might get the same one also to represent mother and daughter and on the side in our language the symbol of mom and child.
what do you think?
should i use something else instead of a butterfly?
Additional Details
im 16 going on 17 btw.

That sounds great. It's not just a random butterfly like most people get it actually means something. I think the mother daughter tattoo is a nice idea also, but the most important thing is that your tattoos mean something to you and you think you will want to live with them forever. People who use the argument "But think about when your old and wrinkly" crack me up. They are so dumb. Hello I'm going to me old and wrinkly. who gives a **** what my tattoo looks like?

I think the motivation behind wanting your tattoo is inspirational. I'm glad you were able to pull out of whatever rut you were in to now better yourself. And the butterfly metamorphosis idea is great. However getting a butterfly seems like such a cliche tattoo. So many people get tattoos of butterflies because of their cute factor. I know it may be something symbolic to you, but I'm sure you could think of something a bit more creative. Also you are 16 going on 17... and your appeal for butterflies may change over your lifetime.
The tattoo on your side with your mom sounds great, its symbolic and bonding.

NO. Don't do it.
Your body is perfect the way it was created , why mess it up?
Tattoos work by puncturing the skin up to 30,000 times a minute with a tattoo gun, is it really worth it? No way.
You'll regret it later. Please reconsider.

Dont go for it!! Tattoos are permanent. What about when your old and the skin is sagging? But if you really want to get weither the butterfly, a quote, or a flower

I think it's a lovely idea, but if you're not completely sure, just give it some time. Wait until you're 18, and if you still want the exact same thing, then you know you've made the right decision. And if you don't, there's no harm done. And that year will give you plenty of time to research studios and artists, and safe tattoo practices.

You HAVE to make sure it's legal in your state, just because your mom consents. Doesn't mean you can walk into a shop, and get a tattoo.

dont listen to the losers telling you not to do it.go ahead and get the butterfly.its like how a caterpillar goes thru changes and then hides in his cacoon(depression)and then one day it comes out and spreads its beautiful wings to a new life.i say go for it.the tattoo artist might change it a lil bit just to make it a nice clean tattoo.so dnt freak out if he does
