Resolved Question

I think I'm in love with a friend, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't feel the same. Should I tell him?

To complicate things, we only know each other on the internet, and he lives several states away. We would both like to meet each other in real life, but the likelihood of that happening is honestly slim.

Your opinions?

Additional Details

I'm not that young, but I am inexperienced.
I agree, I need to get to know him better before we meet. I like the idea of holding off until we meet to tell him. That's something that needs to be said in person.

First things first: Anything is possible but you be cautious!!!!

From my experience: I met a guy online and we got a long great. We became really good friends and shared pretty much everything. We exchanged phone numbers and texted and talked a lot. We also started to flirt a bunch. After almost 1 1/2 years we finally met and it was kinda like love on first sight?! We're married now :P so yeah it can have a happy ending.

still...don't tell that guy that you love him over the internet. You do need to meet him first and see how things work out in person. Don't rush into it though. You never know who you are talking to on the other side!!!

Internet is just another medium which connected you with your "now" friend (well net friend I should say). In my opinion, it's very much possible to get into life time relationship which started through Internet. I can say because I know people who meet through Internet. Ofcourse, you need to meet him first in real life and then try to understand if he is interested in you. And then you can tell him what you feel. All the best.

i remember i met a guy through a friend on the internet and we exchanged numbers. he lived in PA and I live in CA. we talked on the phone and texted alot. then he started talking to two of my friends and we stopped talking but somehow i started talking to his best friend and we ended up dating on and off for 3 yrs. we had the same intentions as you do. we still havent met face to face and are just friends now but we plan on meeting one day.. he's in the army and can travel so thats cool. i've known him since 2006 and he's 2 yrs older than me. he's great though. tell the guy how you feel and if he doesnt feel the same way then hey, it wont be too awkward because you dont have to see him at all but you can still stay friends on the internet. also, be careful because if your young... guys can be creeps on the internet and fake alot of things and try to rape and kill you. dont meet him if your under age or have a friend or two tag along just in case. im serious.

Having a long distance relationship is risky. Tell him about your feelings, but also tell him that it's not possible you two could date unless he lived closer, just stay friends. And if you do ever get to meet him, then weigh your options on whether or not you want to date him.

I don't think what you are feeling is love,I think it's more like a crush, seldom does anything come of having a relationship over the internet anyway.Personally I wouldn't reveal my feelings, just my thoughts.

If he doesn't feel the same, why would you tell him? It would only screw up the relationship, right? make things awkward, etc.

Of course not, wait until you meet him then go out and then decide.
