Why does some of my clothing creat static when I remove it?

Is it the type of material they used? Does rayon, polyester or spandex have been known to do this?
Also, which is softer, rayon or spandex?

It is the type of material. Synthetic materials tend to produce more static electricity. Rayon is softer.
