Does this shy boy like me? how can i make him make the first move?!?

Question

i really like my good friend Mike.

We hangout with the same group of people every weekend
so it rarley is just me and him.
We do have a class together. but in the class there is no talk time so we dont talk. but we always walk to class after together :)
he texts me sometimes.
he calls me to see where i am on the weekends, when he could just call his bestfriend who is in the car with me. but he chooses to call me first :)
if we are alone on the weekends it is only for a few minutes tops.
but those few minutes are filled with conversation.
he flirts with me. atleast i think it's flirting. he says little remarks like "your lying" or just little mean flirts :)
he is a pretty shy guy. he has never had a girl friend. and ive never had a boyfriend.
our friends say we should date. but i dont want to admit my feelings for him. because i am obviously shy about it tooo.
AND TODAY
i texted him and asked him for a ride to school. but ended up getting a differnet ride.
but he texted me "why did you ask me? why not jade or something?" (jades my bff.)
is that suppose to mean anything?!
so how can i make this work! i REALLY like this boy. he is amazing :) and funny.
and i am too shy to make a move! so help me out! give me some yahoo advice!

I totally know what you mean. I hate making the first move too :D
So here are things i would do with him.
You say you hang out almost every weekend. Why not suggest something different with him? Like, a date but not really a date ;] Ask him to the movies or ice skating. If he accepts, great! If not, just be casual about it.
And the text, I forget who said this, was a way to test you. He was probably caught off guard with the request. And it could have been a splur of the moment thing.

But yeah, you want to hint that you're interested in him :D See if you two can hang out together alone at a mall or park or someplace. Don't make it too romantic first, just something causal. You want to spark something. You should also call or text him a little more. Calling's better cause you two get to hear each other's voices and it's cute like that ^^

cause i am shy guy too and pretty much the same thing happened to me...but it was all good after she made the first move...so yea, just go for it...

Okay I know you don't want to hear this but your gonna have to make the first move! If you really want something to happen between you 2 just tell him. But don't flat out say it. Like hint it first be like so do you like anybody? and then go from there.
The guy i'm dating made me say I liked him first and it worked out good. Lol.

When your friend, Mike said "Why did you ask me? Why not Jade or something" means he is testing you. He wants to see how you react about it. Start with a normal text or conversation like talking about something he likes...etc Then go into more complicated stuff like family.
