How do I get these trip switches on again?
Hi. I was at work and, in a fit of utter stupidity, I went to the swtichboard and flicked some of the trip switches off. Now they won't switch back on again. I tried to switch them on and they just kept going back to off.
Please help before anyone notices that nothing is working. Is there an easy way to get them back on again? I don't want to get the sack. I think I might just pretend it was a storm that did it. But I don't know if I can get away with it. Please help!
Additional Details
I think the switches are right over into the off position already but I'll check.
I think I have to call in the electricians and pay for them to fix it (in the middle of the night), because if the company can't function due to a strange lack of electricity then it will cause a lot of problems and then people will get angry and I will have to hide in the cupboards again. And I don't want to do that because it's very uncomfortable after the first few hours.

push them ALL the way to left if on left side `` right if on right side`` ALL the way then back the other way.

- I couldn't turn them any more to 'off'. I realised that the main thing was that they were working before the workforce showed up in the morning, so I got a colleague to come in and he pushed them hard all the way to the left side 'on'.
Now I'm praying that they won't realise it was me. ty

turn the lot off and urinate over the reception desk lol.
or
Turn off every breaker so nothing is on that's lights, sockets, cooker the lot. The trip should close then. If it doesn't it's buggered as you are feeding nothing at all. Thn when the RCD is closed you can then turn the trips on one by one. Whichever causes the RCD to trip out is the faulty circuit. If it's sockets then you'd then unplug all sockets and try again. If it's lights then leave the lighting circuit off and use table lamps for that area. RCDs trip due to high levels of moisture so it's often irons and washing machines that can cause problems so a shower is a possibility. A shower is too big to go on a socket circuit.

what kind of lighting? HID lighting may take up to 15 minutes to restrike and light. just turn the breakers back on and play dumb.
or they may not be controlled by the circuit breaker, there may be a different control to turn the lights back on.

Sometimes the switches need to be pushed further into the 'off' position before they will sit in the 'on' position, other than that I can't help...

Make sure you throw the switches full into the off position. If you do not do this, they will not go back to 'on'.
If this does not work, then urinate all over the reception desk and call it a fit of insanity.
