What is the best time of the year to trim Burning Bush hedges?

I always thought you were supposed to trim them in springtime, but right now those little spindly branches with no leaves on them look pretty easy to trim to the height I want them at ......

With that variety of shrub - ANYTIME is good.

When they're dormant is best, as it's easier to see the structure, and they're less likely to suffer moisture loss.

But seriously - you can raze those things down to the GROUND, right in the middle of summer, and they will come back strong. (I tried to remove them - cut them but didn't dig out the roots...I swear, I cut off a foot of new growth FOUR TIMES through the summer and fall that year.)
