Can u bake a cheesecake is a round aluminum cake pan?
making my 1st very simple thanksgiving dinner with cheesecake for dessert from a very simple recipe i found in a magazine. Dont have the time or $ for any fancy equipment. Ive been recommended to use a spring pan already but dont have one. Im making my own grahm cracker crust and figured I could use the 2 round aluminum cake pans I have, since this will be my first cheesecake, im just not sure if it'll work. Any Xtra tips R appreciated for this newbie cook :)

Just use your aluminum cake pan and serve the cheesecake in that.
I also found out that if I use low- or fat-free cream cheese and/or sour cream, the cheesecake won't set up correctly. Thanksgiving shouldn't be about lo-cal cuisine.

Its fine to use the aluminum cake pan just make sure you spread butter around the pan or spraying Spam on it so the crust doesn't stick to the pan. Let it cool and harden a little then poor in the cheescake stuff on top of the crust, so that you dont have to cook them seperatly.

If you have a pie plate, I would use this instead. It will be much easier to cut and serve from than your cake pans.

Line your cake pans with heavy duty aluminum foil, letting some extend beyond the edge of the pan (so you can lift cheesecake out of the pan). Then spray the bottom and sides of the foil with non stick spray and proceed with making your cheese cake. When done, just let them cool completely and then lift the cake out by the edges of the foil and flatten out the foil, cut and serve.
