Turkey Stuffing question?

Here's the thing, each year our whole family gathers together and does different dishes for Thanksgiving. This year, I thought I'd give the little Turkey guy a try. I've got the little guy almost done, I just need to marinate him, and I need to get the stuffing ready. I got some recipes online but they seem a little too "difficult". Yes, I know how to cook, lol! But I'm not a great cook. I need a simple, not-too-long, delicious turkey stuffing recipe for Thanksgiving. Any ideas?

This year I am making savory turkey stuffing. Which is a box of your preferred dressing/stuffing, whatever you want to call it. Here's the recipe and you only have to have 5 ingredients!

Ingredients:

1 3/4 cups Swanson® Chicken Broth (Regular, Natural Goodness™ or Certified Organic) (or you can use the juice from the turkey)
Generous dash ground black pepper
1 stalk celery, coarsely chopped (about 1/2 cup)
1 small onion, coarsely chopped (about 1/4 cup)
4 cups Pepperidge Farm® Herb Seasoned Stuffing

Directions:

Heat the broth, black pepper, celery and onion in a 2-quart saucepan over medium-high heat to a boil. Reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 5 minutes or until the vegetables are tender. Remove the saucepan from the heat.

Add the stuffing and mix lightly. Should be done in 5 minutes, fluff with fork.

2 other ideas-
Cranberry & Pecan Stuffing: Stir 1/2 cup each dried cranberries and chopped pecans into the stuffing mixture.

Sausage & Mushroom Stuffing: Add 1 cup sliced mushrooms to the vegetables during cooking. Stir 1/2 pound cooked and crumbled pork sausage into the stuffing mixture.

EDIT: Do not put the stuffing inside the bird. It is better to just use aromatics to stuff him with instead ( your bird cooks faster this way.)- Large slices of onion, celery, sliced apple, rosemary, sage, and olive oil. Then you after your bird is done, you can add some of the remaining juice from the turkey(instead of the chicken broth) into the stuffing. More flavorful for sure!!

Good luck, and I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

    Easy Beginner's Turkey with Stuffing

    Ingredients

    * 12 pounds whole turkey
    * 1 (6 ounce) package dry bread stuffing mix
    * 1 cup water
    * 1 tablespoon butter
    * 1 cup chopped celery
    * 1/4 cup chopped onion
    * 4 slices toasted white bread, torn into small pieces
    * salt and pepper to taste
    * 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Rinse turkey, remove giblets and place in a shallow roasting pan.
    2. Prepare stuffing according to package directions. Mix in water.
    3. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat, and slowly cook and stir the celery and onion until tender.
    4. Mix celery, onion, and toasted bread pieces into the stuffing, and season with salt and pepper. Loosely scoop stuffing into the turkey body cavity and neck cavity. Rub the exterior of the turkey with vegetable oil.
    5. Loosely cover turkey with aluminum foil, and roast 3 1/2 to 4 hours in the preheated oven, until the thickest part of the thigh reaches 180 degrees F (85 degrees C) and the interior of the stuffing reaches 165 degrees F (70 degrees C). Remove foil during the last half hour of cooking to brown the bird.

    well you could always just buy the stuffing out of the box... the simplest way to do it.
    and incase you havent already heard, dont stuff the turkey with it, either the turkey will dry out by the time the stuffing is done, or the turkey will be done and the stuffing will be contaminated with the raw turkey juices.

    Everyone has a favorite here's mine

    2tbsp (25 mL) extra virgin olive oil
    2cups (500 mL) sliced onions
    1 celery stalks, chopped
    4 garlic cloves, minced
    1 tbsp(15 mL) chopped fresh sage, (or 1 tsp/5 mL dried)
    1tbsp (15 mL) chopped thyme, (or 1 tsp/5 mL dried)
    1/2tsp (2 mL) salt
    1/2tsp (2 mL) pepper
    4 mild Italian sausages, (about 1 lb/500 g)
    12cup (2.8 L) cubed day-old French bread, (or Italian) (or large bag of stuffing)
    1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
    1-1/4 cup(300 mL) chicken stock
    1 cup Mozzarella Cheese or Gruyere grated
    1 egg slightly beaten

    Fry the Sausage till browned then add the onions till they go clear then add then celery. After 3 minutes add all the other ingredients except the bread and broth and cheese. Chop the sausage finely. And toss it all with the bread and 1 egg slightly beaten. Put it in a baking dish that has been sprayed with Pam. Top with cheese. Cover well with 2 layers of foil. Cook till heated through well with whatever else is going on in the oven. ( Minimum of 30 minutes)

    You can substitute breakfast sausage.

    In the turkey I put An apple a chopped onion chopped carrot and celery for flavor Stuffing is a pain in the turkey. Cook the little guy upside down! The legs will cook better without drying the breast and the juices will run through the breast. Turn him over the last 30 minutes to brown. When you take him out let him sit under a heavy towel for a good 20 minutes before you cut him to pieces.

    Here's what I usually use for stuffing:
    chestnuts
    carrot (diced)
    celery (diced)
    onion (diced)
    mushroom (pieces)
    Giblets (pieces) that came with the turkey
    salt & pepper
    rosemary
    butter
    dry toast (broken up to pieces)
    milk

    Pan fry the first 8 ingredients with butter
    then mix them with the toast pieces and milk in a bowl to stuffing consistency
