I dyed my mouse blue.
First off, you need to start with a white mouse. It won't show up on dark fur.
You must be VERY VERY careful!! Small rodents catch cold easily and die from being wet!! There are special dyes you can use, but make sure the bottle says it's ok for that specific animal. Hair dyes will either burn your pet or be licked out when s/he grooms, which is deadly. You can use food coloring if you want. Add a few drops to some water and dip a sock in it. Then wipe the sock gently across the mouse's fur. DON"T GET IT TOO WET AT ONCE!! Help it dry by wiping it with a dry sock, then dye it some more. Keep it warm at all times with your hand or sleeve. DONT use a hair drier and don't put him/her back into the cage still wet. Don't risk your pet's inocent life if you cannot practice patience and self controll. You must go a little at a time for it to be safe. Also, I wouldn't reccomend dying him or her around the face, because the coloring may get in the eyes.
Thank you for researching first before you just went and did it. These other people yelling at you don't give you that credit. And good luck.
ps-I find it funny how your example picture is a pokemon, by the way.

... What the hell, I'll take this one.
You should not dye your mouse. It will DEFINITELY harm it if you try. Just leave it alone.

Dyeing your mouse will definitely harm it (and probably flat out kill the poor thing.)
So: do you want a normal coloured, alive mouse? Or a purple, dead mouse? Because that's ultimately the choice you're making here.

the smell alone would suffocate it, not to mention the chemicals would burn its sensitive skin.

don't be selfish, I'm sure the mouse didn't ask to be turned purple.

the dye can be toxic and mice have different skin and hair from humans so will probably cause some irritation. They only live short lives Id leave him alone and let him enjoy it dying it would only be for your entertainment not the pets.
