Can I turn a regular "jello no-bake cheesecake" into a pumpkin cheesecake?

by just adding pumpkin and some spices (nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves)? Do you think that would turn out ok or should I just chuck that idea and go for a real pumpkin cheesecake recipe?

YES YOU CAN!

EASY PUMPKIN CHEESECAKE

11. oz. pkg. no-bake cheesecake mix
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
3/4 c. milk
3/4 c. pumpkin
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Whipped cream

Prepare the graham cracker crust in the cheesecake mix according to package directions. Press into a 9 inch pie plate (if desired, use already made graham cracker crust). Chill in freezer while preparing filling. In small mixer bowl combine cheesecake filling mix, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Add milk, pumpkin and vanilla. Beat at low speed until blended. Beat 3 minutes at medium speed. Pour mixture into crust. Chill at least 1 hour. Garnish with whipped cream and cinnamon if desired. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

NO! pumpkin needs to be cooked. So, I really don't see how you can add pumpkin to a no bake cheese cake. Why not try to make a cheese cake from scratch? It really isn't that hard. It takes like cream cheese, eggs, the pumpkin and pumpkin spices, sugar, and maybe a little lemon juice and that's about it. Find a simple cheese cake recipe, then add about 1 cup of pumpkin to the mixture with an extra egg.

YES! You can do it..I found a recipe for you(I have not used it myself though) Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving! P.s. to the other answerer...you could eat canned pumpkin right out of the can if you wanted to so I don't know why you said you the pumpkin must be cooked??
1 (11 oz.) pkg. no-bake cheesecake (including filling and graham cracker
    crumbs for crust)
1 c. canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)
1 to 2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
    Whipped cream

Follow package directions to make crust, but use a 9 inch square pan. Save some of the crumbs and use as a garnish on top of completed cheesecake.
For Filling: Pour 1 cup cold milk in a bowl; add the pumpkin and spice. Beat vigorously with a large wire whisk until well blended. Pour filling into pan on top of crust. Sprinkle with reserved crumbs. Refrigerate overnight to allow filling to set. Cut into squares, then remove from pan with a spatula. Top with whipped cream.

I disagree partially. Canned pumpkin is already cooked. I make a double layer pumpkin pie that is not baked and it is fabulous!
Here's the link to the recipe I've used for years.
