Honestly: Would you say I'm a sad 16 year old with no life?
I rarely go out to parties or even places like cinemas and retaurants with my friends because when I was younger my mum never let me so I'm used to it and don't have friends close enough to go with. When I do make plans, it gets cancelled for one reason or the other by either me or the friend and I'm sick of this.
The only places I go to is school, church and the theatre where I work and I'm taking an acting course with some of my friends. Do you think I'm sad for this? Please be honest

SAME my mum was the very same, me too, story of my life :O!
To be honest, I've moved out now and I live with a bunch of Hollyoaks Juniors. I sometimes look at them and think Wow, they're so like.. social.. but actually, I don't want to be like them. Stumbling around pissed all the time, shagging each other and thinking it's funny to take the **** out of people for not doing the same. You might find it picks up when you leave school, but maybe not the way theirs did. Like, mine has gotten better because I've made a few good friends. You seem to have those, you do your theatre class with them, right? So you're halfway there. You could always try saying I know, we'll go here after class next week. That way, they're already out and if it's a week ahead as well, there's no reason to cancel :D

i wouldn't say you were sad, you're only 16 and i found once i had left school thats when my social life really began.
its unfortunate your plans always get cancelled because it good that you are making an effort, don't give up.
also, you're taking an acting course with your friends which is a really positive thing, it will help you gain confidence and will help you later in life
don't worry!

No you are not sad, at least you are not on street corners, binge drinking and then beating someone to death.
You will find your way slowly, but the biggest growth in social lives generally happen from college onwards. This is when you will have more choices (as in places to go, activities & friends). So you still have time yet.

First of all..plss change ur name pal.
Heyy , am stuck with the same situation as you. Well i gotta agree with u that its true, coz teenage life is some period when we cannot always judge that we are growing up, we should be responsible, focus more on studies and many other things (u can make up ur own list). We are still young and we shud have the freedom to enjoy and have our own time, atleast spare some time to have fun, "be freee" and "excited".
But sometimes u know the real fun when ur the sorta person who hasnt gone out much and suddenly in a luck by chance u get to go out with ur friends..u wud be the person who enjoyed it the best!! I mean c'mmon those who go out frequently might have got used to it, when u can experience the thrill and pleasure of it. Lets hope that moment comes some day. Ur a teenager u need to have that fun buddy. I wish u good luck for that.
Ur life isnt bad its just that everyday seems to be the same throughout, try to make it different.....
Take care..If not mine i hope that atleast other answers find u cheerful.. good luck.

I was a bit of a loner when i was younger, i did have friends but i preferred my own company. You do leave the house, have hobbies like the acting thats with friends etc so no your not sad.

I don't think my opinion matters. Why not try to ask yourself. Do you want to go out w/ some of your friends and have fun or do you want to just stay the way you are? Your the only one who can answer your question. If you felt some emptiness by having no one around you to hang up w/ then try to widen your horizon by making more friends and go out with them. But if you feel your contented w/ your life and w/ what your doing then you can't say your sad. Reflect.

I don't think you are sad as you are trying to make an effort to go out. If you prefer not going out then don't go out. I am fifteen and rarely ever go out but I like it this way as I have other things to do such as work and school work.

When you get older, it becomes harder to find friends, cos they like doing other things you might not approve of... at least this is what I find.

no that not sad at all!! you carry on doing what you enjoy doing - dont compare yourself to others. it sound like you have your own interests which is a good thing.
