I told him I liked him, and it's awkward now ?!?

So let's call this guy Andrew. I met him this school year and he is in my PE class. We hung out, flirted, and talked a lot so I started to like him. He was showing signs that he liked me too, so I assumed so. So one day I asked Andrew who he liked. He told me that it was me, and then smiled and said just kidding. He asked me who I liked. I told him I'll give him an answer when I'm ready. He begged me for a week, so I decided to tell him. I told Andrew it was him and all he answered me was "That wasn't that hard, was it?" And since we had 1 minute to get to class, we went to our classes. Ever since then, I started to avoid him, and I'm not sure why. I guess I felt awkward and I needed some time and space. We used to be together during nutrition and lunch at the school field but I've been in my classroom doing "homework" just to avoid him. He always tries to talk to me when he sees me, and he even asked me if I was ignoring him. I lied and said that I was just busy these days. Of course, he knew I was lying. How is he feeling towards me? What should I do?

Ok, so you've had your time to hide. You played cat and mouse for long enough. Clearly he likes you but right now you are sending him bad signals and he might think you don't like him. So, stop torturing this poor guy already. It's time to pick up some courage and ask him to lunch or whatever. Conversation will slowly pick up unless you keep it going. Be straight with him, whether you want to remain friends for now or you want to date. Baby steps are just fine, don't overload your head with life changing themes. Besides you guys are really young, I'm just saying teenagers tend to dramafy every little thing. Keep in mind, the calmer you are, the calmer he'll be, making this no big deal at all.
