Are Cockroaches Difficult To Get Rid Of?
I have just moved in with my mum, I had several cockroaches in my previous place. My mum saw a cockroach about 15 mins ago and she panicked!. Are cockroaches hard to get rid of?

I'm afraid that, once they start breeding in a building, they are difficult to get rid of. This is because they will eat anything except metal and concrete, they are nocturnal, so they hide in dark places, they can squeeze through very narrow cracks, they breed all year round indoors and they are difficult to catch or kill.

I'd like to say no, but there are many determining factors that decide that:
1) Environment, temperature can play a big part in their ability to thrive.
2) Hiding places, if they can run away and go make babies you'll have a problem.
3) Preventive Methods, if you don't try anything to get rid of them they won't leave.
4) Food Sources, the more they can eat the harder it'll be to get them to leave, bad thing is they can eat almost anything.
Just try ways to prevent them from getting to out of control, i.e. baits, traps etc. and if need be call an exterminator.

Best get an exterminator or pest control company out to assess the situation. They are not very nice critters (the cockroaches not the pest control people).
