I think I love my best friend...?

I'm a girl and my best friend is a guy. We've known eachother for a while and we get along perfect. He's the most amazing guy ever.....he's sooo sweet, he's super smart, and he's always there for me. I truly couldn't ask for any better of a friend, he just makes me the happiest person ever. And the same goes for him. He's told me how much he appreciates me being there for him and tells me how awesome I am (: I'm pretty sure he like me a lot... he asked me to homecoming and we slow danced...it was great. And we hang out all the time, just the two of us, sitting and talking for hours and hours. And we both love it when we get to do so. I love him. I really really love him. I'm pretty sure we would go out, but there's one problem....he just got over one of the nastiest relationships ever (it was bad..) a few months ago, and he told me it's not that he thinks I'm a b***h like his ex, he's just not ready for another girlfriend. He's basically just scared..really scared.. and his confidence is at an all time low. I just need to show him that he's an awesome person and that he would make an amazing boyfriend. I need to restore his confidence enough to the point where he's ready for another relationship, but without being pushy and mean. I just don't know how to do this..... help me please!!

sounds like you got some amazing thing going on...
time heals...i don't mean to cite cliches here, but it's true. He'll get over her...you can help this out by just being yourself!! do what you always do with him. If he seems sad and depressed, don't try to get all phylisophical on him and say stuff like "you'll be alright eventually" or whatever...even though it's true...what you should do is smile at him. Try to distract him. Say "hey, lets go__________" fill in the blank with whatever....dance...bowl....look at the stars....whatever you guys do for fun...try to get his mind off his ex... and eventually, when it he does get over her, he'll love you all the more because he'll be like "this girl knows just how to make me feel better"...
