yes you should.
you can get protein from dairy and nuts. If you really aren't sure, be a semi-vegetarian (yes, it's real!). Semi-vegetarians don't eat red meat, but they eat fish and poultry. I think vegetarian is a wonderful lifestyle, because when you think about what happens to the animal BEFORE it is on your plate, it really makes you want to change.

Vegetarian facts:
1. Plants yield 10 times more protein per acre than meat.
2. Of the 20 million tons of plant protein given to raise cows only 2 million tons of protein are used.
3. More than 7 billion animals die yearly for human consumption.
4. Baby chickens have their beaks cut off with no anesthesia.
5. It takes more energy to raise and produce animal meat than the meat itself provides.
6. Forests and rain forests are being cut down to provide grazing land for animals.
7. Vegetarians are 50 percent less likely to develop heart disease, and they have a 40 percent lower cancer rate of meat-eaters.
8. Vegetarians have stronger immune systems than meat-eaters.
9. Vegetarians and vegans live, on average, six to 10 years longer than meat-eaters.

hope this helped , :) .

its your choice, if you love fruits and vegies, and you don't like the fact that we eat animals, then i guess so.

Only if you're really serious about getting your protein from other sources because proteins VERY important. Plus it depends on your reasons why. If you're willing to buy organic meat that'd be a great idea and supporting a good cause and a healthy body! :D You could even limit how much meat you eat a week if you'd like

Here are the reasons I stopped eating meat:

It's better for the environment. Reduces your carbon footprint and is one of the easiest thing to change in your life with the most benefit.
Helps with water shortage and world hunger. Not as much land is being taken up to feed animals that we later consume.
It can be very healthy, studies show that vegetarians live longer than meat eaters! :D It can also help you lose weight if you'd like.
It's less cruel, you don't have to have any guilt about eating animals that suffered horribly to become your burger.
    Less chance of food poisoning!
This one is just me, but you never know what is in your meat, especially hot dogs/sausages. Some of it looks rather suspicious.

Lastly, it's easy! Just make sure you examine your diet and you'll be fine. I may have not convinced you at all, but good luck in whatever you decide!

Why are people obsessed with saying you have to eat meat to get protein? What about nuts, beans, and vegetables that have protein? Not only do they have plenty of protein, they don't have the baggage of the extra cholesterol that meat gives you. People are uninformed, and the more uninformed, the louder and more repetitive they are. If you want to go vegetarian, do it. But if you will feel deprived, then don't. I'm a vegetarian because that's truly what I want to be, and I don't like meat. You could tell yourself it's for health reasons, or for animals, but do it because you actually want to, or you might end up binging on meat. I don't binge on meat because I don't feel deprived, because I hate meat. Maybe you should watch Fast Food Nation or read about animal slaughtering and the nasty parts that could be in your food. Disgust is what helped me out of it. Just think of it as going straight to the source. Plants are producers, and animals are herbivores that feed off of the producers. So why take a detour and eat something that ate something else? Why not just go straight to the best source of nutrients?

What is holding you back from becoming a vegetarian?

In principle it's better for your health, your bank balance, the environment and your conscience.

Perhaps you should try out some vegetarian recipes. Start eating more vegetarian meals.

Do what you feel is right
You'll probably find as a lot of vegetarians do that living off stir fries and pasta can get really boring so if you decided to become vegetarian you'll probably find it handy to pick up a couple of vegetarian cookbooks so you can still eat well.
You don't have to become a full vegetarian just do what suits you best, like i still eat fish because it is so good for you. Even if you ate less meat you would still be saving an animal every time you don't. If you decide you want to quit eating meat altogether you will probably find after a while you'll just loose the taste for it so you won't have a dilemma when you crave meat.
There are pro's and con's of not eating meat it all comes down to what you want to do so don't feel pressurized into either option.

veggieheads will rule the world one day!

but seriously many people try and give up
after a week. you have to know how to eat
right and stay healthy. it's a lot of work and
hard to get used to at first. I've been one for
6 years now and i have no regrets.
