What is so wrong about drinking alone?
I enjoy drinking Monday nights after class while watching TV and playing xbox. Why is it bad to drink alone?
Additional Details
I'm not a child. I'm 22, working full time and school full time.

It's not bad to drink alone. Sounds like you're having fun. People who say you shouldn't are probably afraid you'll get depressed like a lot of people do. People drink for different reasons. Some to socialize, some to drown their sorrows.

Well if it's bad, then I've been bad. Nothing wrong with it that I can think of. It's like having drinks with other people, only they didn't show up. No difference to me, but you will get others who will tell you all kinds of reasons that it isn't good.
Take it from me, have another and enjoy yourself!

Sounds like that's the only time mommy and daddy are away from home long enough to allow you to sneak their alcohol. That is what is wrong with it...you are a child drinking alcohol. When you become an adult, it won't matter.

Its bad to drink alone because you can pass out and choke on your own puke. Or, you can pass out on the couch with a lit cigarette in you hand and catch the house on fire. Same goes with a pot of food cooking on the stove, or maybe a candle catches the curtain on fire and you won't wake up because you're passed out drunk.
There wont be anyone there to save you, Forest.
This stuff happens all the time. The number one cause of death for drunks are accidents, usually drownings and fires.

It isn't as long it doesn't become the dominant part of your life. I also drink alone occasionally, if there is a hockey game on and don't have to work early or if I'm going on a raid in WoW as it's the only way I can deal with listening to the kiddies yap on in vent.

Nothing, unless you do it every day.
And workout freak, don't be so quick to judge how do you know that 'class' isn't uni, and it's not like any age was stated.

maybe you'll get depressed and you can no longer claim you're a "social drinker". Just keep yourself in check and as long as you're not drinking to escape problems, it's the same. Too much of anything is too much, but you're your own boss.

they say don't drink before 5 o'clock, they never said am or pm. i sit at home and drink a quart of whiskey a day and enjoy myself. i don't want anything to do with people. i only go out to buy more a block down the street. i watch tv and play with this stupid thing.

It's not, only when you drink to get drunk alone. In fact, I'm drinking a beer right now and the only other person in the house is my dog.

Occasionally drinking alone is totally okay. But I think the idea comes from the people that drink alone and then hide the fact that they been drinking at all, or, try to act sober in front of the people that love them and know better. For example, showing up for Thankgiving morning at 11am completely plowed but pretending you haven't had a drink. Then being the first person to mention the wet bar 15 minutes after arriving. If you start having to lie about it, I think that's what it's about

Nothing really bad with drinking alone unless you're a minor and you might not be able to monitor yourself well which can lead to too much drinking and that's when accidents can happen and there'll be nobody there to save you. So just be careful, pace yourself and enjoy the game.

I guess I'm bad as well. I have a glass of wine with dinner every night. Some nights I pour myself a 2nd glass to enjoy with my after dinner cigarette on the porch.

therz heps of reasons, you could burn yourself in your house, you could hurt yourself, you might even leave your house unlock not knowing and someone could come into your house and kill you or even rob you blind.
