Virgo is ruled by mercury. Mercury rules concepts such as writing, speaking, thinking. Since it is in the 3rd house which is naturally ruled by Gemini which also is ruled by mercury. So yes, there would be a fondness. Should you have planets there it will describe more of what kind of writing or type of writing the person maybe drawn to. Also look at any aspects to the planets of the 3rd.

I'm not sure with virgo in the third house, but I do know that the third house represents Intellectual ability. I would think this could be the case because virgo's planet is mercury (communication) and the third house intellect.

my experience with a virgo is trhey are very creative and organized.so yeah they can be fond of writing.i am 2 and im a gemini

Well that all depends on what planet is with it, what is aspecting this planet.

Keep in mind that Virgo is ruled by Mercury and in the 3rd its in a Mercury house, but know that Gemini and Virgo act differently when in Mercury. Virgo is about service, not communication. So having Virgo (again depending on the aspects and planet with it) in the 3rd would not necessarily mean fondness of writing, but may critiquing writing, becoming a distributor of books, publishing maybe. Since, the 3rd rules our early child hood experiences it could very well mean that it may publish children's books.

Looking at the house where the ruler of Virgo is (mercury) will tell you more about this position and what will influence it.
