Hi, I am a 50 yr old mother of 2 daughters who are 18 & 20 who works fulltime. I have been married 25 yrs & seperated for 4 yrs. I live in the great state of Texas and I don't know what else to say on here. So I guess if you want to know anything else or share something w/me~email me here. That's all she wrote!!! Update: I am now an unsure mother-in-law ~ my 18 year old is now married. I am unsure about this because I feel that she is to young, but time will tell!

  • How would you feel about......?

How would you feel about dating someone that has been married for nearly 26 years? But they have been separated for nearly 5 of those 26 years. They live around 100 miles apart & hardly ever talk to each other, see each other a couple of times a year. Have 2 grown daughters which are the only reasons that they see each other at all. Basically, they are out of each other's life. So how would you feel about dating one of them?

  • Why are couples getting married....?

Why are so many couples getting married after having lived together and having children? I know several couples that have lived together 2, 5, 10+ years & have anywhere from 2 to 5 kids together. And NOW they get married! Is this happening everywhere or just around where I live? I know two individuals & one couple that I work with have or are fixing to marry their partners after years of living together. The 2 individuals & their now spouses already had 5 kids, the couple that are getting married in June~have been together 16 years & have 3 kids. I am confused and old fashioned, I always thought that you get married, live together and then have kids. Or get pregnant and get married before the baby is born. Or even get pregnant, split up and one parent raised the baby. So I am just curious about this. I would like to get different views, perspectives, ideas, or whatever about this.

    Thanks to all that answer!

  • Can anyone tell me about Iris Johansen's...?

I just recently started reading some of Iris Johansen's books and would like to know about a series of books that she has written. I think that some of the books have "Wind" in the title, can you tell me the names of all of the books in this series? And also what order they should be read in?

  • Does anyone know of a book like this?

When I was in 5th grade many, many years ago; our teacher started reading a book to the class. This was the same year that my mother died so I don't remember a whole lot about the book, except that it was really good. It was about a boy or young man that worked as some type of apprentice. I believe that his hand, arm or both were seriously injured/deformed in an accident that I think involved a fire. Anyway it was about his struggle to overcome this disability and what he made of his life afterwards. I am sorry that I don't remember more about it but I think that our teacher was maybe, halfway through it when my mother was injured in a car wreck; which she shortly later died from. It seems like it may have had copperfield in the title or that may have been the author's name. Does any of this sound familliar to anyone?

  • Can some one please help me on MySpace?

I have been trying to do my profile on MySpace for quite some time now. After I get every thing typed up for Interests & Personality, how do I save it to MySpace profile page? I have clicked on Save All Changes, Preview Profile and Preview Section but it doesn't show up on my main MySpace page. My other info about me, my schools and my details show up but nothing about my Interests & Personality. What am I doing wrong???

  • What do you think of Brooke Shields now?

I recently saw her on an episode of Law & Order and my first thought was "That's not Brooke". Then I thought "What happen to you?" Has she had face lifts that went wrong or is she just aging badly? Or am I the only one that thinks she looks bad?

  • Just curious, what's up with Yahoo ratings?

Why can't I rate all of the answers or more than one or two.I have just tried to rate some answers to different questions. And Yahoo wouldn't let me rate some of the answers but it let me rate other answers to the same question. Does anyone have any idea why??

When I try to rate some of the answers, a message says that I can not rate at this time, to try again later. Or the message says that my session has expired yet it will let me rate the next one!! What's going on?? Does anyone know?

  • Have you ever done a divorce over the Internet?

I have decided to file for a divorce after having been seperated for 3 years. I have found some inexpensive ways to do it over the net without having to have a lawyer. It would be a simple uncontested divorce without any custody or property issues. Has anyone reading this ever done this type of divorce? If so, could you please tell me about it. Are they legal, hard to file, do they have hidden costs? Any info that you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

  • This question is for parents of 17 to 20 years of age ...?

I have a 17 year old daughter whose 20 yr old bf just gave her an engagement ring w/the understanding that they would have a long engagement. My question is~How should I handle it? This is my youngest daughter~my "baby"~and I feel that she is to young for this kind of commitment. There are several reasons for me feeling this way: neither one of them is working, she is diabetic w/out control of it, this is her first "real" bf and I am scared for her emotionally & phisically.

Now for the positive side: I like the bf pretty well and they have both been good for each other, they have helped each other to mature in many ways, he is working on joining the Army(took the test~hasn't heard back from recruitor yet) and they love each other. But in my eyes, they both need to mature some more!

Am I just being an over protective mother, should I leave them alone or what?

  • Is there any way to retrieve forms?

I recently filled out a dating form that for some unknown reason disappeared. I am a very slow typer so it took me a while to fill out~then it disappeared!! I have no idea what I may have done to lose it. I tried backspaceing but had no luck. Does anyone know what I may have done that lost it or how I might retrieve it~if it happens again? Which it could, since that is the second time it has happened to me(very frustrating!!). Is this God's way of telling me not to join online dating or what?

  • Can you help me to overcome my fear?

After 22 years of marriage, it's over. Now I am uneasy about dating again. I am a 49 year old fairly, attractive woman w/2 grown daughters. I was completely faithful to my husband, as he was to me. We grew apart and couldn't live together any more so we seperated~it's been nearly 3 years now. I know that I could never live with him again but I am uncomfortable with the thought of divorce for several reasons. I worry about losing any financial support from him later on. This may sound harsh or monetary (is that the right word) but I think I deserve something financially from him. I know very little about alimony or how it works. Could someone explain it to me and also talk to me about dating again?

Thanks in advance for any & all help. Both of our daughters think that we should get a divorce so there's no problem there.
