OK so I'm making my halloween costume, and the cheapest fabric I could find in red was satin. I've never sewn with satin before, and it's incredibly slippery. So I was wondering if anyone had any tips. By the way, I'm making a corset and a floor length skirt out of it.5 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade ago
Lately I've been doing a lot on my Wii Fit, at least 40 mins a day, but I read somewhere online that it doesn't actually help much. However, I've always thought that if a exercise makes your muscles hurt and your heart rate go up, then it's doing you some good (the super hula hoop does this bc I'm not in very good shape at themoment.) Am I wrong? If I am, what are some other exercises I can do in my house? I have issues exercising in front of other people.3 AnswersNintendo Wii1 decade ago
I just got into reading manga and I want more! lol However I really don't like waiting, and I read very fast, so completed mangas I can read online in english would be best.
Here's what I've read so far:
From Far Away
Dakishimete noir (This one made me laugh)
Beauty Pop (This one was just too ridiculous. I couldn't finish it)
I've read a few more and forgotten the names but I think they were all shoujo, if that helps.5 AnswersComics & Animation1 decade ago
I am terrified of spiders This has been a problem my whole life, but lately it's gotten much, much worse. I know it's best to just let them be unless they pose a danger to humans, but my arachnophobia has gotten to the point where I can't sleep at night for fear of a spider being near me. So I am looking for a way to kill/ chase away the ones that are currently in my house, and preferably keep them out. I've heard Lemon Pledge will repel spiders, as will some essential oils, and I intend to use them, but I'd like something I can carry around with me, maybe in a spray bottle, that will kill the spider immediately. If only for peace of mind so I can sleep. Also, it would be best if this stuff didn't harm the paint on my walls.
Things I Have Tried:
Hairspray - Works, but it takes a lot of hairspray before they finally stop moving, and the fumes get to me. It's also expensive
Vacuuming them - Also works, but it's not practical for me to carry a vacuum around with me.
Squishing them - Sometimes I'm too scared to get close enough to them to squish them
Thanks for reading through all this, and I hope you can help me! :)6 AnswersOther - Home & Garden1 decade ago
I found a link to this site the other day, and now I can't find it again. So I'm hoping because I found the link on Answers, someone here can help. You typed in the name of a book. movie, tv show, author, or band you like, and it would recommend similar books, movies, tv shows, authors, and bands. The layout of the site was predominantly purple or dark blue, and think the logo was a little cartoon emoish girl. I could be wrong about the logo though1 AnswerOther - Internet1 decade ago
I've seen all of the Studio Ghibli movies and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, so I want more! My favourite of all of them was Spirited Away, so I would like to see movies that are more fantasy-like I suppose. Also, I would prefer if they were English dubbed, because, despite my best efforts, I can't speak any other language. Thanks! :D4 AnswersComics & Animation1 decade ago
Despite my best efforts, I am quickly running out of books to read this summer. So I have turned to Answers to get some recommendations. Like I said, I like fantasy books, and some paranormal and sci-fi stuff too. Also, female main characters are preferred (easier to relate to I guess), but not necessary. However, I do not read trash like Twilight, so don't even bother with books like that.11 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade ago
I'm going to be the Queen of Hearts for Halloween (original, I know, but my friend begged me) and I need ideas for a few things. As a note we're doing sort of a punked out/ goth version of Wonderland. More dark than cute.
1: The bodice of the dress. I can sew pretty well, but I'm having trouble coming up with a design for it. I can adapt my skirt design to any ideas (with pics if possible).
2: My hair. I want to have some sort of updo, and I have very long, thick hair so it's possible, but I need to find one that doesn't look horrible. I have sort of a square face, so slicked back is bad. Also, I'm going to put a small crown in it too.
Thanks in advance for your help!6 AnswersHalloween1 decade ago
I really want to read Brightly Woven by Alexandra Bracken, but I can't find it on 4shared or scribd. Are there any other similar sites you know of where I can find a online or pdf copy of this book? Oh, and don't give me that crap about it not being in public domain, I already know.4 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade ago
I have to do a project for family studies. Here's the parts of the assignment I'm having trouble with:
2.What is farmed in that country, what are the major crops that they export (about 1/2 to one page of information):
3. What are the Staple Foods (families prepare most of their meals using these ingredients/plan meals around these ingredients--such as grains, potatoes, meat & poultry in Canada):
I'm doing this project on Mexico, and I'm having a lot of trouble finding info. Any info or links you have would be great. Thanks!2 AnswersOther - Mexico1 decade ago
I am a coach of a children's gymnastics program and I am looking for songs to play during our classes. I am really getting sick of Raffi. As they are children, ages 4-9, the songs need to have no swearing or inappropriate content in them. Also, songs that aren't too nauseatingly top 40 would be best. The coaches need to be able to stomach it too. :D Thanks in advance!2 AnswersOther - Sports1 decade ago
I want to make a pillow, and I was wondering how much the stuffing for it would cost. I'd need quite a lot, as I'm making them out of a couple too small t shirts that I just can't part with. Any approximations of cost or an idea of where I can get it cheap would be fantastic. Thanks. :D1 AnswerDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade ago
I'm writing a story that involves a woman being struck by lighting and I'm afraid that I don't know as much as I need to. I'm hoping that someone can answer the following questions.
1. The woman's daughter is between 20-40 yards away, what would happen to her?
2. I was wondering what the thunder from the lighting strike would be like. Deafening I'm sure, but how long after I'm not so sure of.
3. What the chance is of a fire starting.
Thank you.3 AnswersWeather1 decade ago
This is a continuation/ alternate ending to the faerie tale Snow White that I wrote for English. I've heard good things about my writing, but I'd like to make a career out of it (I'm still working this part out), and I'd like an opinion of someone I don't know. I do know that I don't edit as much as I should, so little grammatical errors and such I probably just missed.3 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade ago
Here is a link to the most recent thing I wrote. Please consider the fact that I'm only 16, and, to be perfectly honest, I don't spend as much time editing as I should. But I'd like an opinion from someone who doesn't know me.5 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade ago
OK, so I'm a 38DD, and I can never find shirts that fit. They're all either too short because there's so much more to cover in front, or too tight. I've tired Bluenotes, Garage, Aeropostale, XXI Forever, H&M... the list goes on. Has anyone else had this problem and found a way to solve it?3 AnswersFashion & Accessories1 decade ago
It's like a RPG game where you go around and perform tasks for money and age points. The more age points you get, the older you grow. Sort of like Sims, I guess. Thing is, you can only get to 12 years old then you have to pay. So I'm looking for a similar game for free.1 AnswerVideo & Online Games1 decade ago
I want to read this series, but when I reserved them at the library only the second one was in. Does it matter if I read them in the order they come in, rather than the order they were published in?1 AnswerBooks & Authors1 decade ago
