For the UC application:
If you have been doing archery since freshmen year, can you consider this an extracurricular even if you were not part of any sort of organization or club? What about if you love hiking mountains? Or does it have to be some kind of organization/registered activity?

I'm in the car outside of my favorite gym. I came to workout, but I've had a bad ear for a few weeks. I'm using a prescription, and my ear has felt a lot better. This morning I woke up with an achy ear and I woke up very tired. Should I try to workout now? I'm doing insanity tonight.2 AnswersDiet & Fitness8 years ago

I am a 105 lb, 16 year old female. The doctor today has told me I am too underweight and she says I need to gain some weight. My heart rate is considered too low and my periods stopped quite a while back. The doctor has told me to add more calories and dairy (for me soy) to my diet. She wants me to gain enough weight to level out my heart rate and start my periods again. She wants me to cut back on my cardio exercise since I exercise a lot and eat healthy foods.
Does anyone know of ways so that I can keep my figure and not get flabby? Will sit ups, crunches, pushups, etc keep me toned as I gain the weight? Of possible, I would like to stay around the same size (basically in the thighs and abs). If I use weights and tone will it prevent flabbers from invading my body? Thank you! Also, any healthy foods you guys would recommend? Thank you so much!1 AnswerDiet & Fitness9 years ago
Alright, when I had to figure out my calorie requirements most sites said my body required 1500-1800-2000-2500, numbers way up there. I weigh 104 lbs and I am 5 ft 3-4 ins, 16 year old female. I always aim between 1100 - 1200 kcals, sometimes more when I have worked out a lot. I have been told 1100 is too low.. I workout usually burning 600 to 700 calories.
If I am really suppose to consume numbers way up there, why am I not losing weight? I'm not aiming to lose weight, I'm just curious. Or am I losing a little weight but gaining more muscle?
Is it just because most teens require that many because of a fast metabolism?

I am 16, 5 ft 3 in tall. I weigh 104 lbs. I normally eat about 1200 calories a day. I used to eat less but I know you shouldn't. I go to the gym about 5 to 6 days a week. I burn 500 - 600 calories in cardio. Because of this, I am suppose to eat more calories right? I want to maintain my same weight, so the goal is to stay fit, not lose weight. What would be a good average amount of calories to eat when I exercise? I know it all depends on the person, but, maybe a guideline? Thank you!3 AnswersDiet & Fitness9 years ago

If they are high pressure, it seems odd they would have deserts. High pressure is responsible for clear skies, but how could it be so hot? It seems the a lot of the Sun's energy would cause it to be low pressure but then it would not be a desert? Confusion!

calculate the distance that light travels in miles in one year if the speed of light is 186,000 miles per second.
Please help. I did the first part correctly. You end up with 31,536,000 seconds in a year. Then you multiply this by 186,000 Mile/sec
Basically I don't understand what the answer would be I got 5.865696 x 10 but my calculator had another number on it. Can you confirm my answer?2 AnswersAstronomy & Space10 years ago
I don't need a long answer. I am just trying to think of the main impacts. Thank you!2 AnswersAstronomy & Space10 years ago
Polarity is the orientation of the Earth's axis? So basically does it mean it is the shifting of position? How does this relate to Precession- aka The wobbling of the earth? Is it that they relate because they are both the moving of the Earth? Thank you1 AnswerEarth Sciences & Geology10 years ago
