If it weren't for change, there'd be no butterflies.

  • Just out of curiosity, how much is...?

...gas in your area? I'm really curious. If you're comfortable with it, put the current gas price in your town/city, and your town/city or state name. Let's see just how bad this is.

I starred a question from someone talking about today, May 15th being a gas-out day, and suggesting that the 15th of each month be the same. I think it's a novel idea.

    Ingleside, TX $2.89

  • Guys & Dolls, what are your favorite...?

    ...or craziest Old Wives Tales??

I heard one the other day. Said if you count the number of chirps a cricket makes and add 29, you'll get the temperature in degrees farenheight (sp?). I thought that was interesting.

There's also the one about keeping cats away from babies because they'll suck the breath out of them.

    Any others?

  • Ok, I'm so close to Level 5, but I just HAD to waste points...?

...asking if there are any more conspiracy theorists out there.

Do you ever get the feeling that some of these people ask stupid, incomplete questions just so someone like me will jump on it, asking WTF just so they can spam me later??

  • Why did Richard Gere get into trouble ...?

...for kissing the Bollywood actress and President Bush didn't for banging on those drums? Seems that was just as much a sacrilege!

    Any opinions?

FYI: I am not making any sort of political statement, just curious.

  • What are your secrets...?

...for making your home smell nice?

My favorite is Yankee Candles "Home Sweet Home", but who can afford it?

Anyone have any tips or tricks to affordable ways to keep your home smelling fresh?

Because of allergies, I can't use the standard air freshener products because of the chemicals.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Am I the only one...?

...who gets offended when someone gives a thumbs-down to my answer?

    When I think I've answered someone's question thoughtfully and considerately, I get a thumbs-down.

I know, in the grand scheme of things, that thumbs don't matter, but I can't help but wonder if this is all a popularity contest.

    Any thoughts?

  • Why is it that people like...?

...Skinhead_Charlie are allowed to ask questions that are of an offensive nature? I realize this is a forum dedicated to education, but his questions and answers are so beyond the pale as to be sickening. What can we, as a community, do about such hatemongers??

  • The best of Yahoo Answers!?

Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?

A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it...don' t waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?

A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn! And what are these? Vegetables! So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

  • Has anyone ever taken a Caribbean Cruise?

I'd love to go on a Caribbean cruise. Because of our location, we'd have to leave out of the Houston area. Has anyone ever cruised out of Houston, say on Carnival?

  • What is the best way to let your employer...?

know your ideas for streamlining your work?

For example, employees must pull up each record for the day, making note of how many for each company. XYZ has 3, ABC has 2, and so on, breaking it out by price from there; then total for company; and finally total for the day for all companies.

I know for a fact that this database can be filtered to do all of this automatically. I've only been here a few weeks, and don't know if anyone is aware of this, and maybe it's a budgeting issue why it hasn't been filtered.

How would you handle this situation?

...whenever I try to respond to a question with an honest answer, I have to wade through SPAM?? What's going on here? Is this irritating to someone else?? If there were truly home-based businesses and jobs I could do and make thousands of dollars a week, do you really think I'd be working at this crappy job?

  • Questions about surgical menopause.?

I had a hysterectomy just shy of my 31st birthday. I woke up in the hospital having hot flashes.

Nine years later, I'm still suffering from hot flashes, night sweats, low libido, and mood swings. Does this ever get better??

I was taking HRT that addressed all of the above issues, and kept me pretty comfortable most of the time. However, because of the risks associated with HRT, my doctor took me off of it.

After bawling and squalling to him about how miserable I was, he agreed to put me back on the same medication, but at half the dosage. Well, I don't even take it half the time, because it's not doing me any good.

My question here is does it ever get better??
