1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)1 decade ago### when a ball is tossed into the air, the height, h, in metres, of the ball after t seconds is modelled by?

h= 5t²+20t+1. After how many seconds, correct to two decimal places, does the ball hit the ground?

I was wondering, is this correct?

h= -5 (t²-4t) +1

h= -5 (t²-4t+4-4) +1

h= -5 (t-2)² +21

Let h=0

0= -5 (t-2)² +21

√-21/-5= t-2

t= 4.05

Therefore the ball hits the ground at apprximately 4.05 seconds.

If you think its wrong please do correct my answer. Thank you. The best answer will receive 10 points and best answer! =)
