  • I need help brainstorming ideas?

I have an essay to do and I don't know what I should do it on and which essay prompt should I do?

    1. Culture can have a strong influence on identity. Write an essay that addresses the issue of culture and identity and argues the influence culture can have on identity. Use support from the following: “The Clan of the One Breasted Women”, “Binge Drinking as a Substitute for a Community of Learning”, “How to Tame a Wild Tongue”.

    2. Experience forms perception in numerous ways. The closer or more distant a person is to a situation will affect how he or she views that particular situation. Taking the aforementioned into consideration, analyze how experience affects the way people view certain situations, such as one’s relationship with a country, nature, and science. Use support from the following: “Is America Falling Apart?”, “The Trouble with Wilderness”, and “From Realism to Virtual Reality: Images of America’s Wars”.

  • What happened to Rachel McAdams?

I remember in 2004 and 2005 she was at one point one of the top actresses in Hollywood even a source named as the next Julia Roberts at one point. First came on to the scene in Mean Girls gained her notice then among other movies were The Notebook, Red Eye, The Family Stone and Wedding Crashers. Really thought after 2005 she'd be an unstoppable force and would even be an Academy Award nominee by now or even couple nominations.

I thought 2005 was her year and would even gain her at least an Academy Award nomination for a movie like Red Eye she did considering she did so great in that one. Didn't even get one. When you like at the winners at the Oscars like Reese Whiterspoon, Marion Cotillard, Sandra Bullock, Natalie Portman to name a few that have one do you really think they're better than her?

I know that she took a bit of break for a bit but do you think her break hurt her momentum a little bit?

  • Why hasn't Michelle Pfeiffer won an Academy Award?

Where do I even start? When starting this post I said quietly to myself: “Wait a sec, Michelle has never won an Oscar.” Then I started repeating it again and again (yes like a crazy person) and I realized how ridiculous that sounded. Michelle Pfeiffer has never won an Academy Award. I’d laugh out loud if it wasn’t so immensely ridiculous. This is definitely one of those things that can suddenly anger me.

Michelle Pfeiffer is one of those great actresses, no doubt about it, drama is definitely her best side and she has portrayed tons of amazing characters. She was one of the dominant actresses thorughout the late 80's and 90's. So why is it that in all the years she has been active, no one in the Academy has stood up and said “Hey, Michelle Pfeiffer doesn’t have one, how dumb is that?!” Well, someone probably has, but they’ve never done anything about it now have they? When I think of all the other talented actresses that have won Oscars, Gwyneth Paltrow, Halle Berry, Reese Whiterspoon, Marion Cotillard, Sandra Bullock; it’s a wow! Considering I do think she's better than them

Michelle has been nominated (only) 3 times; in 1988 for Dangerous Liaisons for Best Supporting Actress while for Best Actress for both in 1989 for her outstanding performance in ‘The Fabulous Baker boys’ and in 1992 for her role in ‘Love field’. She should’ve been nominated for a lot more of her films though.

Do you think the Academy will ever give her one?
