A few years back I built a computer mostly on the cheap using a bunch of old parts and a really nice case and power supply. The case is an antec 900 and the psu was a cooler master silent gold 800. the prosesser, mobo memory and video card were all recycled from other builds.
So that computer got glitchy and I had to constantly re start it and play with tuning it on and off to get it to even get to bios, so eventually I gave up on it and bought a tiny barebones htpc to use in the living room. recently I built myself a new computer and I took the guts that was my old computer and installed it into the Antec 900 case.
I used the 800 watt gold psu in my new build and have no problems with it
So inside in Antec case is the exact same guts, every piece of my old computer which I know to be rock solid just 7 years old and it is having start up problems not exactly like the first time but in the genre.
I never suspected by mid - high end brand new case. Could the power / reset switch that come pre installed in a case be the real cause?2 AnswersDesktops6 years ago

we are still losing jobs
the financial reform was / is a joke
We are bleeding manufacturing jobs and replacing them with low paying service jobs.
Why is the market going up?
Is there somebody out there that actually thinks the market deserves to be as hign as it is.

why is it all the great action happens after hours when regular guys like me can't buy in or sell.
If I ever make an after hour trade it is executed in the morning no matter if I do the trade a couple of hours after closing.
Why not just have it open 24/7 if not than close it for every body
closing ya right, for who? seems to be open for somebody.
High frequency computer generated logarithmic trading needs to be banned.1 AnswerInvesting1 decade ago
The Republican party has a majority of poor Americans in their ranks. Why? When the republican party work directly against everybody expect for the super rich. If you don't make more than $500,000.00 per year then voting republican is like shooting your self in the foot. I just don't get it. Liberals do the most for poor people historically yet the poor seem to be mostly republican. The very word liberal means to preserve and defend liberty.. sounds like a good thing to me. Can somebody please tell me why they consider themselves a republican even though the GOP is against them? Or why they are against a group that wants to defend liberty. Please do some research before answering and you will see that I am telling the truth.16 AnswersPolitics1 decade ago
HOUSTON (AP) -- Halliburton Co. said on Wednesday that it has gotten a letter of intent from Shell Iraq Petroleum Development BV that would make Halliburton the project manager for developing the Majnoon field in southern Iraq.
Halliburton said it wold be working with Nabors Drilling and the Iraq Drilling Company. The contract needs final approval by Iraqi authorities, Halliburton said.
Iraq reached a deal with Shell in January to develop the mammoth oil field, along with partner Petronas, Malaysia's state-run oil company. Shell and Petronas plan to raise production in the field from the current 45,900 barrels per day to 1.8 million barrels per day over 10 years.
Halliburton shares rose 9 cents to close at $28.79 on Wednesday.
Ah the simple truth. money money money and blood for oil.
So all you war mongering idiots can just shut up because there it is in black and white. Haliburton (Cheney) and big oil (shell) and all it cost was a few hundred thousand lives.

I seriously don't understand why people want to discriminate against a group of people for no real reason. I have been reading and reading and not one rational, logical opposition.
To me it seems simple if you don't want to marry somebody of the same sex then don't. If you are in love with someone of the same sex then you should be able to go for it. That would be called freedom.
You can take religion and throw it out the window just like our atheist founding fathers tried to do. And yes they were atheists well at least Jefferson and Franklin.
To me the legal word used to define the joining of two persons is Marriage. Now if a religion wanted to perform some sort of ceremony they can call it whatever they want and the state cannot interfere. but ceremonies performed in churches are not legal. that is why you still have to go down to city hall and get a license. The license is what marries you not the religion.
I believe in freedom as long as it does not DIRECTLY impact somebody else. And passing a law that does nothing but discriminate is just wrong an completely un American.
SO can somebody with at least two brain cells to rub together please give me some reason that is not based on bigotry or make believe to possibly justify prop 8.
Also what is he deal with the responsible child bearing part of it. I have been searching and I can find all kinds of stuff of hetero couples doing all kinds of F'd up things to their kids but I could not find one thing about a gay couple killing all their kids, or massive physical abuse. nothing.18 AnswersWeddings1 decade ago
I bought a new WD 320gb 2.5" 7200 RPM scorpio black hard drive for my laptop. I went to WD's site and downloaded their latest version of Acronis and proceeded to format the new dive (NTFS) into a single partition then clone the drive. I have done this several times before and never had any issues. After the cloning was done I shut down the laptop and removed the battery and swapped out the hard drives. When I tried to boot on the new drive I would get as far as the black windows screen (I am running xp pro) then bsod. I tried this four times and every time I would get the bsod. I tried safe mode and I tried chkdsk no luck. I re installed the old hard drive and re booted no problem. When I hook up the new dive though and external enclosure windows saw it as a 54gb hadd and Acronis did not see it at all. I have tried several drive recovery programs all of them only see a 54 gb hard drive. When I first hooked up the new drive acronis saw it as 298gb. Aarrgghh. I can't seem to recover the lost 250gb of space. All I want to do is re format and start over. I have tried windows comp management / disk management too and chkdsk /f nothing works. Could I have a bad drive... does western digital make bad drives? HELP!4 AnswersOther - Hardware1 decade ago
I am working on a friend's computer. He had one of those fake anti viruses which I am seeing a lot more of lately. This one is called Internet Security 10 and the bad files were Scandisk.dll any way I got 99.9% of it now when I boot it up it flashes a solid pink screen (the virus loading) for one soilid second then goes to the widows xp log on screen when I click on a user's icon it starts to load then the pink screen flashes for a millisecond and the icon goes from logging on to logging off. Any ideas. I have a the bad hard drive in an external enclosure hooked up to my computer as a slave so I can delete individual files if you can tell me where they are.
Thank You.3 AnswersSecurity1 decade ago

At my son's preschool they've showed movies on more than one occasion with excuses like, it's the holidays and it's chilly out or it was a prize; now it's summer and they had water play and then watched a movie. My son was all upset because they didn't let him watch it because we've confronted them on it before and told them we are not okay with it. We don't have tv at home (apparently like the only people ever) but we do have movies and shows on dvd or whatever. We just find it highly inappropriate to be paying for our son to go to preSCHOOL and watch it. I'm beginning to feel like I'm the only one who thinks this is problem! P.S. I went to 'daycare' as a kid and never watched tv so I know it can be done.5 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade ago
