People claim corporate america only looks out for the almighty dollar and never look out for the "little guy."
Corporate America IS America. Americans Corporations are made up of Americans. When you attack large corporations, you're attacking the little guys on the factory floor every bit as much as the big guy upstairs. When government encourages corporate growth, they are encouraging economic prosperity for Americans.
Why would you ever want to tie the hands of corporate america? You're just tying your own hands!
Why do a majority of Americans feel the Tea Party movement understands Americas issues better than Congress?
"The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 52% of U.S. voters believe the average member of the Tea Party movement has a better understanding of the issues facing America today than the average member of Congress. Only 30% believe that those in Congress have a better understanding of the key issues facing the nation."
Obama is polling in the mid 40s now. November is going to be a bloodbath for the Democrats if they stay the course. And it only gets worse if you consider likely voters...

Obama recently held California up as a model for the rest of the country to follow despite:
Crushing taxing policies
And a government issuing IOUs as currency.
Who in their right mind would follow this state off the cliff?13 AnswersPolitics1 decade ago

I remember my school having huge rallies to "save the rainforest" when I was a kid. It must have been a tough talked about environmental issue at the time. Did we get it done? Are they safe?
Probably the greatest threat to the environment is not CO2 emissions, its legit environmental issues being tossed to the wayside while we chase this pipe dream of reducing CO2 in the next 10 years.7 AnswersPolitics1 decade ago
It's simple really. We don't have the money to pay for all the stuff we want, so we need to reduce spending to pay off our debts. Is there anyone out there that disagrees with that logic? I don't care if you're Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, or Socialist. Simple economics suggests we have no other real course of action.
MONTPELIER -- A car parked outside the State House bore a bumper sticker saying, ''Regime change begins at home."
Inside, about 100 Vermonters gathered in the House chamber for the Vermont Independence Convention -- devoted to Vermont creating a regime of its own.
"If participants have their way, the state whose former governor was laughed out of the 2004 presidential race after the infamous Iowa scream is going to take what some call its wackiness and others call its sanity in a crazy world and go home."
How quickly the left forgets.
Say what you will about the tea party protests, but they were if nothing else a complete success at getting people talking about the outrageous spending by the federal government in the past year. Will support for Obama's fiscal policy drop as a result?21 AnswersPolitics1 decade ago

The police officers who stopped Oklahoma City motorist Chip Harrison and confiscated a sign from his car told him he has a right to his beliefs, but the U.S. Secret Service "could construe this as a threat against President Obama," according to the incident report released this morning.
Capt. Steve McCool of the Oklahoma City Police Department is seen in this NewsOK.com video frame grab. McCool says an officer who wrongly pulled a man over last week and confiscated an anti-Barack Obama sign from his vehicle misinterpreted the sign as threatening.

"Utah's congressional delegation is calling President Obama's decision to move the U.S. census into the White House a purely partisan move and potentially dangerous to congressional redistricting around the country.
Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, told FOX News on Monday that he finds it hard to believe the Obama administration felt the need to place re-evaluation of the inner workings of the census so high on his to-do list, just three weeks into his presidency."
I don't care who you are, this is scary stuff and smacks of corruption. This job was taken from an independent, non-partisan committee and placed under the direct control of a VERY partisan President. This is a sad precedent and a sad day for democracy.
Or did he simply ban federally funded stem cell research.
That stem cell trial that got approved from the FDA this week began research and work DURING the Bush Administration.14 AnswersPolitics1 decade ago
Reading some of the answers on the other Q, it seems like there are people out there that honest to God think there is a gay gene. My favorite is the answer where they claim there are scientists actively looking for a gay gene, as if that wouldn't be a biased scientific study breaking all conventional scientific methods.
All studies on the subject have lead to a combination of genetic "tendencies" that lead to an environmentally invoked orientation.8 AnswersPolitics1 decade ago
