I was previously eating 1500 calories but I was losing 1.5 pounds every week like that so I added 500 calories per day and ate 2000 a day. I kept exercising the same. Trouble is, I could never bring it up to 2000 eating normally, so by the end of the day I only had around 1200, and would have to bring it up to 2000 with high calorie foods like donuts and Oreos. My dad told me that it doesn't matter WHAT you eat, what matters is the calories (when your talking about weight) so I ate like this for 4 days. I then weighed myself at the end of the week and it turns out I had gained two pounds. I'm very disappointed and don't understand how this could have possibly happened. I weighed myself the morning after I had eaten a donut, a chocolate yogurt, lots of water , some iced coffee and four Oreos and I had gained 2lbs. Went about my day and then weighed myself again expecting the food from the night before to be gone from my system but I was still 2 pounds heavier. when I weighed myself the second time, all I had eaten in the last eight hours was :
A bowl of granola and milk
A Slice of toast
A large glass of water
A small bowl of chicken noodle soup
And I was completely naked.
How have I gained 2lbs? Is it water retention from the carbs? Is it from the food I had eaten? Or did I really gain that weight? Very confused , can someone explain?
