I feel like a lot of the art I make ends up looking the same - it's not a bad thing, but I also want to improve it and take it in different directions. But when I look at it all together it still seems to all share the same general approach, method, subject matter and style. Furthermore, they don't seem to have much depth to them - they are often very illustrative and can have a lot of detail, but not a feeling of depth, of really pulling you in. (if that makes sense?)
Sorry, I'm not sure how clear this is - but what do you all usually do/recommend if you feel you keep producing the same thing (kind of inadvertently), and generally want to get out of a rut while not neglecting your unique style? Thanks so much for any advice!6 AnswersDrawing & Illustration6 years ago
I was learning a routine and while figuring out one part I bruised my ankle. The choreography was that you lie down and bend your left leg (knee to ceiling) and right leg (flat on floor, knee outwards as if doing ballet pirouette) and after raising your torso up into sitting position you had to use your arm to push you up onto one leg. I was probably doing wrong, and I leaned too much on my ankle (the bent leg that was flat on the floor) and b/c I have bony ankles and leaned on that one ankle I have a bruise over it now. It doesn't hurt to walk, but it hurts to press on it and is quite large. Help, anyone? I won't lean on it again but how do I fix the bruise? Any suggestions? sorry it's confusing & thx!1 AnswerInjuries1 decade ago
Whenever I do a developpe I find it really hard to keep a good turnout and get my legs high. I know that you need strength to hold your leg up and that flexibility isn't everything but what can I do to help my strength so that I can get my leg up high & keep good turnout??
also can anyone tell me whether your legs should be tensed during a straddle stretch for middle splits? I find that pointing my toes tightens up my leg muscles and that I can stretch a bit further than if I don't tense up... but there isn't much improvement ? when my legs are relaxed then my legs roll inwards and it is really hard to bend further down (bend over so that my stomach touches floor)
pls help I've been dancing for a year now?? THANKS!4 AnswersDancing1 decade ago

I need some help with my fan kicks.... they are really low and it is hard for me to keep my alignment. Also could someone suggest some hamstring stretched/tips? Like whether I should be relaxing or tightening my hamstrings during a stretch and whether I shouldn't tighten my knees?

I go to school with this person who lives down the road from my house. When we both started school at the same school and being friends and living near each other we started walking to school together. Around halfway through the year we weren't as close, in diff. classes and when we would be talking they would run off suddenly if they saw one of her other friends. Naturally I started wanting to walk alone, but since it was awkward to stop I waited til the end of the school year. This next school year is coming up and they want to walk together again. I told them things like my schedule would be busy in mornings etc. and they still say we can figure it out. I don't want to seem rude but I really want to walk alone and not upset them. suggestions? Thank you!1 AnswerFriends1 decade ago
I am a beginner in ballet and whenever I do a developpe I noticed that I tilt a little in the opposite direction of my working leg. Is pulling up in my torso the only correction or is there something else wrong?
Also I don't seem to be improving much on the height of my leg in a developpe... is there another excercise/stretch that I can do to strengthen the muscles that are worked in a developpe??

from 1966. It is a countess model. It has a needle, foot etc, but I can't seem to access the bobbin to thread it, I can only thread the needle. This machine is quite small, about 9"x 7". It has an instruction manual but no bobbin instructions. Does anyone have one or can anyone help?5 AnswersHobbies & Crafts1 decade ago
Ok, I know what to do and everything when you're trying to open the safe in the sleeping car (http://www.uhs-hints.com/uhsweb/hints/ndrew13/70.p... and I have the four combo numbers, the problem is that once I try to enter them, nothing happens. The combination is dark and I can't see any numbers, and nothing happens when I just click the arrows the correct number of times. I've even restarted the entire game but can't get past this. It sounds silly and really trivial, but if someone could tell me what I'm doing wrong I'd be really grateful!!!! Thanks!2 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade ago
I'm using this pattern
and I used really big straight needles (stupidly). Being a top down raglan, though I'm seriously running out of room on my knitting needles. I could buy huge circulars, but I'd really rather not. I also don't know if circulars come in this size.... I was wondering if I could knit the back and sleeves seperately while keeping the rest on waste yarn until I'm done the shoulder and back increases. Any ideas??? I really appreciate any help!!4 AnswersHobbies & Crafts1 decade ago
