  • How does one lose weight without stunting growth?

So I get that apparently losing weight in your teens doesn't stunt your growth, but this still kind of confuses me. If you lost weight, it means that you are spending more calories that your intake, but people also say that you need to eat more calories than you use so the excess energy can be used to grow. How does this work?

  • Entrepreneur Help?

A few of my friends and I are trying to start up a company, and I'm trying to plan things out as much as possible, but there are a few things I couldn't find/figure out. Please consider that I am still in high school and have very little technical knowledge of business, but am trying my hardest to obtain it.

    1. I managed to find a page that lets you register a trademark in our province (apparently for free), but I'm also aware that there are other things that need to be taken care of in term of registering, the only one I know of so far is a 'federal tax id', which I have no idea about.

    2. I have plans to put together prototypes of a product, and am planning to use kick-starter to raise money for further production, but I have no idea how to use that money to actually have the product produced and delivered to customers.

    3. I am haven't completed school yet, and am bound to bump into more of these problems. I can't find any books or courses that contain technical knowledge for entrepreneurs, and would greatly appreciated if anyone can point towards something that can provide such knowledge. I have read a considerable amount of books such as Law of success, 12 Pillars of success, 7 habits of highly effective people, and the Power of now, but could not find technical knowledge in any of them.

  • Is biokinesis dangerous?

I'm learning biokinesis, but I'm kind of worried about how it lets you control your heart rate among other things. What if I'm not very good at controlling my thoughts? Might I kill myself or make myself really fat without really wanting to? Also, I heard that some things in biokinesis involves changing your DNA, if done incorrectly, can that give you cancer?

  • How to strengthen wrists and arms for handstand pushups?

I live in an apartment so I don't have access to any equipment other than two 5 pound dumbbells.

  • Free Running Beginner?

I want to get into street running and I know I need to start with conditioning, but I have not idea what kind of exercises to do. I've seen some workouts on various tutorials, but those are either too advanced (handstand pushups etc...), or too basic, (pushups, chinups, and situps). I live in an apartment and do not have access to a lot of equipment, so is there anything I can do?

Also, are there any clubs/gyms where I can get instruction or people to train with for free running?

  • What is Healthier? Anorexia or Obesity?

I tried searching for an article on this and all I got were articles on how anorexic people were pressured into it by 'society's standards', but I've studied a fair share or social psychology, so I know why these things happen.

I'm honestly just curious on which is actually HEALTHIER, not which one people think is better, especially opinion articles written by weak minded obese individuals jealous of those with the willpower to lose such weight.

Don't take me as a fat shamer, because I have a lot of close friends who are obese, and I was also once obese. I just want to know what is actually healthier.

I would also greatly appreciate if answers also provide a link to a research report or an explanation. Thanks!

  • What is the obesity rate in Toronto and Quebec?

I need these statistics for a school project and I swear I can't find them anywhere. (I think Quebec's is 11.7%, but it's probably pretty outdated)

  • Open forum website with HTML5?

Hi, I would like create a website that will serve mostly as an open forum for discussing various ideas. I am currently learning HTML5 on notepad++, so will this be able to create the forum I am aiming for? I also plan on updating the forum (graphics, pictures, shortcuts, etc...) on a almost daily basis. I have no problem with spending a lot of time learning the programming part, but will HTML5 do the job? I am also kind of worried if I can even put things like background graphics and animations on the website.

  • How to build compact muscles?

I am currently in high school and would like to build more compact muscles. I've been working out without proper equipment for a while now, and just a few weeks ago started using machines in the school weight room.

I realized that while some people have these huge chunks, others have smaller and harder muscles, though just as strong. I have heard that doing more reps/speed/cardio gets you endurance muscles that aren't as chunky as the huge strength muscles, but people I know with more compact muscles are also very strong. I myself used to be very fat, and have therefore started developing the chunky type of build. However, I have lost most of that fat and therefore want to try to get the type of muscles I want.

As you can see, I am very confused about this, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Tips to get into Ivy League?

I'm currently in grade 9, and would like to ask for the best extracurricular events to take part in so I will have a better chance of getting into an Ivy League. I have heard that getting to an international level in pretty much any competition will be basically a ticket into an Ivy League, but have no experince in any particular sport/activity. Does anyone have suggestions of which activity I should take part in? Any other tips are appreciated as well! (I know about getting good grades in school and as many community hours as possible)

  • Should I do Muay Thai?

I am a 14 year old male weighing about 160 pounds and in good shape, I have no experience in any martial arts, and I'm considering starting with Muay Thai because it's pretty much the only martial art where starting at age 14 isn't considered late.

However, it has been brought to my attention that many injuries can result from this art, and that it requires quite a lot of time. I wish to learn many things in the following years, so even though I'm more than willing to pitch in a decent load of time and dedication, I want to avoid spending all my time on a single sport, and more importantly, avoid permanent injuries (especially brain damage).

So should I do Muay Thai? If so, what could I do to best avoid injuries? (are competitions dangerous?), and if not, what other martial arts might be fit for me?

  • Songs like "Courtesy Call" and "An Angel With a Shotgun"?

I've been listening to songs like these and I really like these two, but they don't seem to be classifiable by genre, and other songs from the bands they come from aren't the same kind. I tried "rock" and stuff like that, but even if they're similar, I don't get that vibe off of them. Any music veterans here to help me out?

  • Mein Kampf Summary?

I have to do this timeline-like thing on Mein Kampf, (you don't have to go questioning the school board because I chose this book out of pure curiosity), it's pretty much a timeline with a bit more details and there is not need to statistical things such as dates. I realized a few days ago that the version of Mein Kampf is pretty much volumes on and two together, and that I don't have enough time to read and take notes of the whole thing, so I was wondering if there is anyone who has read it and can give me a basic timeline of what happens. (Major events, etc)

  • Are Nick Sparks and Nicholas Sparks the same person?

I'm getting kind of confused here, I know Nick Sparks as this PUA guy, and Nicholas Sparks as some romance novel author, these two professions seem to overlap somewhat, and pictures of the two look sort of similar as well, but not that similar. So are they the same person?

  • How to get a girl off my back?

There's this girl who I'm 99.8% sure has a crush on me, and she's been trying to follow me around for the past month or so. Usually, I'd just chat around, but this one's really just a duchebag, and since I'm willing to admit that I'm not someone to judge people by their personalities, I might as well say she's ugly as ****.

Anyway, recently she's started touching me in casual ways like petting me on the head, which a lot of my friends do, so I can't tell her off. I'm doing my best to stay away from her as much as possible without making it too obvious, but I really need help getting her off me before she starts affecting my social status (not a lot of people like her, but she always brings this group of uglies that really like her).

P.S. I can't just tell her straight off because she's pretty sly (and evil in my opinion) and will make me look delusional. No one really likes her but she always hangs around this small group of girls around her level who are like her henchmen, so even if I find some way to confront her, they can push me off pretty easily.

P.P.S. for people who are about to hate on me for judging people for their looks, let me just politely notify you beforehand that your comments will make no difference whatsoever in the way I think, so if you still want to, then go ahead, but I wouldn't waste my time.
