Inner Beauty Rocks

Favorite Answers37%
Answers102

I am an eclectic Pagan. I believe in inner beauty and inner peace (they go hand in hand), equality, and mother earth. Everything on earth has a spirit and it is our job to do no harm to anything. I do not believe there are any gods or any higher power. I believe in reincarnation and Karma. We will be reincarnated until we achieve our purpose then we will go to paradise. We are all on our own spiritual journey to reach the same goal. There are many paths someone can take. I was raised christian but changed my way of thinking several years ago. My husband has been very supportive in my own spiritual journey to find inner peace. I teach my two children the value of equality and acceptance of those who are different. It makes me proud to see them accepting those who are different. I have something to better this world. :) Peace be with you my friend.

  • What are some of you favorite animal alternative recipies?

Went to the doctor today and found out my bad cholesterol is way to high so to try an alternative to medicine she suggested I cut out at least 3 animal products a week, more would be better. I decided to drink soy milk instead of regular milk, try and cook a meatless meal every Monday, and munching of fruits and veggies for snacks. That should be cutting out enough to bring the cholesterol back to a good level. I have never made a meatless meal. I have 2 kids ages 7 and 9. I really need some good recipes to try. Also any hints about cooking with meat alternatives would be appreciated.

  • How to celebrate winter solstice and Christmas together?

Me and my husband and one son are eclectic neo-pagans taking our belief from many religions but closely relating to neo-pagan religions. We do not believe in the abrahamic god. However my youngest son who is 7 does believe in the abrahimic god. We want to continue to celebrate winter solstice but also celebrate Christmas so that no one's holiday is left out. How should we go about combining the 2 holidays so we can all comfortably celebrate together?

  • Do christians know about forced conversions?

My question is do Christians not realize the main reason Christianity became such a widely accepted and practiced religion is because of forced conversions? If our ancestors had not been forced to convert to Christianity or be put to death then the christian religion would not be as widely celebrated today. In fact pagan religions would be more widely accepted today if it had not been for forced conversions. Did you know that pagans were not the only ones forced to convert, in fact the Anabaptist (Amish, Mennonites, and Hutterites) were forced to convert or die as well. I have done a lot of research on this topic. Here is just one of many sites you find this information on. http://articles.exchristian.net/2002/10/how-many-p...

  • How to keep my dog from chewing everything?

We just adopted a 2 year old dog from the animal shelter about 2-3 weeks ago. While I've had several dogs in the past, this is the first time one of my dogs have chewed everything she can get her mouth on, shoes, trash (she'll take the lid off the trash to chew up boxes), toys, etc. We have tried spraying her when we catch her chewing, even though it will stop her at the time, she will continue doing it. Recently if she is caught chewing as soon as she see's us she runs to her crate, so we don't even have time to spray her. We have sectioned off a portion of the house so we can more easily keep an eye on her, however it is impossible to watch her 24/7. We even keep my kids toys in their room and keep their doors shut. We try to keep the stuff out of her reach, but with 2 kids who don't clean up after themselves it proves to be difficult. Help! What else can I do to keep my dog from destroying my home?

  • How to train a dog to bark when she needs to go outside?

We have two dogs, a four year, lexie, who was completely house broken and already trained to bark when she needed to go outside when we got her. We just got a new dog, a two year old, fenway, who was supposedly house broken, but after we got her, we noticed she has accidents and she doesn't bark when she needs to go out. She stands at the door when she needs to go out, but our door is secluded so we can't see her standing there. I'm not sure if she is not complely house broken, or if the issue is where she is not trained to bark to go outside. What are your thoughts on the matter and how do we train a dog to bark to go outside?

  • Family Reunion. What food should I bring?

I have a family reunion coming up. Everyone must bring 1-2 food items. We will traveling about 2 hours that day to the reunion so I need something that won't spoil in the car, is easy to make, and fairly inexpensive to make. I have a cooler so I can take cold foods, but transporting hot foods would be a problem. Any suggestions?

  • What kind of essential oils should I use?

I'm going to start making my own laundry soap, hand soap, fabric softener, etc. I want to use essential oils so that it will smell nice. I don't want anything that smells to girly or to manly since me, my husband, and 2 boys will be using this. Do you have any suggestions what scent I should use? I've never used essential oils before. I've been doing a lot of research on it but I'm still not sure what scent would be a good scent for a houseful of men and one woman

  • If you have a child with your ex, do you consider your ex part of your family?

I have a child with my ex husband. We split on bad terms but was able to get over it and be friends for our child's sake because we know our child's overall well-being is more important than any hatred we have for each other. My husband, ex-husband, and myself do things together with and without my child. We help each other out when needed because we think it's the best for our son to see us get along so well. We even consider my ex a part of the family for life because we share a son. Our son makes us all a family. Do you get along with your ex? Do you consider him/her part of your family? Why or Why not.

  • Best way to disinfect a large amount of toys?

need to clean and sanitize/disinfect all of my son's toys. What is the best way to clean them all? These toys need more than just soap and water. I am thinking that the best way is to put them in the bathtub and let them soak in bleach water, but if anyone has any better solutions please let me know. Thanks.

  • How do you celebrate halloween?

Myself and my children (ages 6 & 8) are trying to learn more about how people celebrate holidays? We know that traditions, cultures, and what country you live in can have a lot to do with the way people celebrate holidays. We are starting with Halloween because that is the closet holiday to us.

For us, we decorate the house up for Halloween at the beginning of October. We usually have ghosts, black cats, cauldrons, a graveyard, and carved pumpkins as our decorations. Then the children pick out their costumes and we go trick r treating in town if the weather is nice. If the weather is not nice they go trick r treating inside the house. They go from room to room knocking on doors getting candy. It keeps them from getting sick. They are wanting to start putting garlic around the house on Halloween to keep the vampires out.

They are wanting to know how do you celebrate halloween and why do you celebrate it the way you do?

  • Son being bullied. What to do?

My son has been bullied on the bus to the point he is coming home in tears. Last year he was bullied on the bus, but when we talked to the bus driver things would get better for a couple weeks, and then start back up. This year we have a new bus driver and he is blaming my son for being bullied. REALLY? I don't understand how it is my sons' fault. I have talked to the principal with no help. I have talked to my son about it and told him try not to show the bully it is affecting him. Wait till he gets home and cry. He even has a few phrases he repeats in the mirror to build his confidence up, and he is starting to lift 2 lb weights per his request. My son is 8 years old. Is there anything I can do to make the bully stop, Is there another way my son can deal with this? Any advice is appreciated.

  • Beverly hills nannies Amber vs. Kristen?

I know this is all scripted and fake, but it is still fun to watch. So which side are you on? They were both wrong and said/did things they shouldn't but Kristen has been really mean through out. She loves to talk about people behind their backs, and she is a bully.

  • Why do christians get tattoo's when the bible says not to?

I was raised christian but no longer am christian because of the hypocrisy in the religion and the people who follow it. Christians pick and choose what they want to follow and what they don't want to follow.

    Just to name a few

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image. But every church has a cross with Jesus on it.

But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God. Almost every christian I know works on sunday and does not have a problem with it because they have to make money someway.

“Judge not, that you be not judged. But they judge all the time. They are even judging when they refuse to let homosexuals have the same rights as heterosexuals.

Finally You must not make any tattoo marks on yourselves. There are countless Christians who do have tattoos and many of them get tattoos after they are baptized.

I could pick apart the bible all day and point out what Christians want to follow and what they don't. It is a bunch of hypocrisy. I could care less about what the Christians do but when they bring it into politics and refuse humans the right to do something based on a religion is ridiculous. they are then opening there-selves and their religion up to persecution. Not everyone in America is a christian, but we are a country of many different faiths. We should not be forced to do or not do something based solely on one religion, but that is exactly what is happening when the Christians refuse to let the gays marry. They are even making it everyone's business when they go to their houses and out on the street trying to convert everyone.
