  • Difference between a geologist and professional geologist?

I have recently graduated with a geology degree and apparently there are a couple of courses that I have not taken in order to meet the requirements of being called a "professional geologist". I would just like to know what are the advantages/disadvantages of being called a geologist and/or professional geologist? Do I have to be called a professional geologist? Will the pay be less if being called a regular geologist?

  • My aunt is coming to Canada but she owes money?

Hello, my aunt is a Canadian citizen and has been out of Canada for about 3 or 4 years now. She has left Canada a couple years back with lots of money being owed to different companies and businesses (over 100k). Now she wants to come back to Canada to settle down with her kids. I was wondering if the customs would say anything to her or tell her to stay in the airport or something like that, Would she get arressted for owing lots of money?

  • Course appealing? Help Please.?

Hey so I had a course i was required to complete by the end of the fall 2010 semester so i went into the exam with a 54% and i pretty much did very well in my opinion on the exam i knew every single answer except for 1 part and when my grade came out it was an F. After emailing my proff she told me that my mark was VERY low and it was a 49%. I am appealing my mark right now because I think there is something fishy with the way she marked it. Has anyone ever had this experience before? thanks in advance.

  • Noisy neighbours? Would this be considered a violation?

Ok so Im living in a bachelor apartment in nova scotia and my neighbours apartment is also a bachelor but we both share a balcony. The problem is that everyday at 9pm - 2pm they leave their balcony door (which is open like 24/7) and I could either hear them mumbling or their tv is too loud. I could hear their tv even with music playing on my computer. Its driving me insane and ive called the management 10 times and all they do is tell them to keep it down and it still goes on ! Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Chemistry trouble in university?

Okay so I'm a second year earth science student currently taking Seds, Mapping, and mineralogy. I'm also taking chemistry concurrently with mineralogy because it is a pre-requisite for this course. But what I am seeing is that i'm doing fine in mineralogy and im bombing chemistry like i have no idea whats going on except for the lewis structures and I feel that my life is ending at this point and that I should change my major and all the hard work I've done until now has gone down the drain due to chemistry :( I really dont know what to do its really frustrating.
