  • Can Egypt win the 2018 FIFA World Cup?

Best answer: To be realistic, no. The super teams of the world, Belgium, France, Brazil, Germany, Spain, etc. have this World Cup and probably most of the future ones on lock. Egypt’s chances are realistically some of the slimmest within the tournament, but as always, anything is possible

Although boasting young talents like Delli Alli, Sterling, Stones, Barkley,Dier and Rashford who can peak within two years and can make impact in their team, their main problem is in defense where Smalling and Baines would have begun their decline.
England can certainly put up a serious challenge in a predicted 4–4–2 lineup in 2018.
    Goalkeeper-Jack Butland
    Defenders-Clyne, Dier, Stones, Rose
    Midfielders-Sterling, Delli Alli, Barkley, Lallana
    Forwards- Kane, Sturridge
Although it impossible to win the World Cup, they can reach possibly reach the semi-finals of the competition.

I love football, I really do. But lately I've grown very fond of Crossfit. In Crossfit you normally have a warm up session which is incredibly physical, incredible amounts of sweat, for a greater part of an hour before you go into the technique or the workout of the day (wod). That is my analogy of the EPL. It is very physical (mostly) and you don't see the refinement or finesse you see in La Liga or other leagues. To evolve you need that next step into the “technique” part of the game.
My point here is that most english players in the national team were born an raised into this physical side of the game (which also includes obviously the basic attributes that a professional footballer should have) but they lack the exposure to other styles around the world that you would end up seeing at a FIFA World Cup. You cannot say the same for the big ones such as Germany, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, or France. What these teams have in common is that their players represent almost all major leagues from around the world, so they always have a balanced talent pool.
One answer also mentioned that English players are generally overrated and I agree with that. Too much pressure is put on the shoulders of these kids. They need to be tested overseas. The moment we start seeing English teenagers playing in La Liga, Bundesliga, Eredivisie, Serie A and the likes, that’s when we can start having realistic hopes about England becoming a real FIFA World Cup contender.

  • Will Bruce Arena be fired after the USAMNT failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup?

Best answer: He should not be fired. It is not his fault. Arena took over a very, very horrible situation with regards to the world cup qualifications and did his best. I do think that he should make way for someone else, eventually though ( Brian Mcbride or Kasey Keller maybe?) This is extremely heartbreaking. However, I think... show more

This is extremely heartbreaking. However, I think what happened today was sheer bad luck. We paid the ultimate price for the heavy losses under Klinsmann last year. The impossible happened. No one expected Honduras to beat Mexico and panama to beat Costa Rica. Even if USA lost to T and T, they would have still progressed . They just won 4-0 against Panama a couple of days ago. With today's loss and the 2 other results that were complete upsets, USA dropped from 3rd to the 5th position , thus not being able to even qualify for the 4th place . Mexico and CR have already clinched the top 2 spots, Panama is 3rd and Honduras will have to compete with Australia now ( 4th vs 4th) to get the final sport. Just pure, bad luck. I will concede that we played poorly in the first stage of the competition before Arena took over.
All we needed was a draw today, against the worst team in the pool and we failed. Honduras came from behind and stunned Mexico 3–2 and Panama upset Costa Rica 2–1. It was 3 upsets in one day. 3 David vs Goliath matches. Murphy’s law at its finest for USA.
I hope they SACK Michael Bradley though, dude has been circle jerking in the team for 10 years now , without doing anything.
How tight was our group? We were 3rd before today’s game. Damn
CONGRATS TO PANAMA for their qualification. It is the hispanic show from America at next year’s World Cup. hahaha.
I expect Australia to crush Honduras though and seal the place.
I am so sad today, but, Forza Italia! I am rooting for Italy in the 2018 World Cup now that USA is not going to be there.

  • If the Netherlands does not qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, who will the Dutch root for?
