So a week or two ago Kevin Doyle retired from football. His reason was that he was concerned about his health after years of suffering concussions due to heading the ball. Now that was a massive part of Doyle's game and he won a lot of praise from fans, managers and teammates throughout his career. Doyle's case is the most recent in football related head/brain injury. There have been cases of ex players renowned for heading the ball getting dementia for example. Doyle's case also rules out the argument that heading is safer now that the ball is lighter. A lighter ball travels faster anyway. After this incident Roy Keane said something like if you're afraid of physical injury don't play football play chess. He says a lot of stupid things at times. Yes he has a point but this is to do with something a lot more deeper than say broken leg which is a massive injury in football but you can recover, maybe not be as great as you were but you can recover. Unfortunately some players careers are ended by broken legs but it's nothing as severe as a brain injury.

1-1 in the Bernabeu! I knew it, Dortmund drew with APOEL too so we're in a very good position to qualify! You were all acting like Rel would easily outclass us or something, Lol! Another bitter pill for the anti-Spurs crowd to swallow!

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Pep Guardiola's tactics. The style is extremely complex, and without a solid grasp of footballing tactics most of the tactics will go over a typical fan's head. There's also Pep's possession game, which is deftly woven into it's characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Rinus Michel's total football, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these tactics, to realize that they're not just entertaining - they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Pep Guardiola truly ARE idiots - of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Pep's existencial style of "Zonal Marking" which itself is a cryptic reference to Ajax's epic team of the 70's. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Pep Guardiola's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Pep Guardiola tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

  • REAL MADRID 1-1 TOTTENHAM - Tottenham deserved that point?

Tottenham defended well and looked dangerous on the break at times. RM just looked slow and lethargic. I think Pochettino has learned from Tottenham's poor campaign in the Champions League. I don't think RM will win the Champions League for a 3rd time in a row anymore.

  • Do you think City have a chance of winning the CL this season?

Not being a glory hunter or anything atm but they genuinely look like one of the best teams in the world. Napoli are smashing Serie A yet Man City are making them look average, it could be 4-0 by now. Real Madrid don't look that convincing and Barcelona are pretty good. • Should 'Parking the Bus' be banned in Premier League Football ?

And if so called 'big clubs' ( top 4) are found doing it, should be fined £250,000 AND be docked 3 points lol ? im not singling out anybody or nothing. I'm just generaly saying, that if a top 4 team is caught bus parking - then they should get fined for it. thoughts ?

  • Craig Shakespeare sacked by Leicester City after only four months in charge - Will they choose Pardew ?

Best answer: Pardew?? It amazes me how the "lower" Prem and Championship Clubs sack their Manager and then appoint a new Manager with a track record of failure!
The list is long of clubs doing that.... Sunderland and Moyes for example

  • If Liverpool are world class then why are they 7th and haven't won a CL group stage game yet?

Best answer: Teams can get results against them, but only really by parking the bus or at least trying to stifle Liverpool's attacking flair in some way, very few teams can actually go toe to toe with them and play an open expansive game. City are probably the only team in the PL that could do it, it would have been an amazing game if Mane stayed on.

The fact that teams constantly just park the bus against them is a testament to their ability, teams that try to go toe to toe with them like Arsenal and Spurs usually get trounced, giving some claim that they could be world class as good teams like Spurs & Arsenal get beaten easily. But obviously the fact that their Achilles heel of being poor defensively particularly from set pieces is their downfall which puts the equation into balance as if they were world class then they should be able to adapt their style and thrive in different kinds of games and not just one type.

  • Would Bernardo Silva start for other teams in the top 6?

I think he would start for most of them, maybe not Chelsea as they don't really use number 10s or classic playmakers. Speaks volumes about the strength in depth Man City have when a top class player like him can't get in the team. He's David Silva's heir.

Basel hammering Benfica and Spartak destroying Sevilla. Less surprising but still eyebrow raising was Celtic winning by three in Belgium against Anderlecht.

Uniteds midfield sat deep at times and struggled to find any ryhtem in their passing as gary neville pointed out. Great performance by Matip and Lovren btw, and Gomez too. Lukaku perhaps will mature into his role as the season goes on, but I was surprised at how comfortable it was for us against a side that are considered title contenders. United were stuck in 2nd gear all afternoon but parked the jose bus v well lol Lukaku overrated slightly perhaps ?
