Also pets are replaceable, if your dog dies you can get another one and forget about the old one.
Now if your mother or father dies can you replace them? Of course not.
We have to remember that dogs run on instinct there is little to no emotion, so they can't compare in any way shape or form to a human being.

Dog cannot speak, think, feel. They are inferior and useless.

So what is the purpose of having a pet dog? For entertainment/human pleasure. That's about it.

Some of these crazy dog owners who think dogs are more important than humans have serious mental health issues and probably have very few real life friends. They need to get out more.

A dog is not comparable to a human child.

When I say I ended up with a dog. I mean it. This dog was tied up for a couple more this, I took her finally, took her to the vet, no chip, no tags, nothing. So she's mine. She's surprisingly healthy. Just skinny. She's kind of a puppy still, she's about 9 months old. She's not spayed. She's a big pit bull mutt, I think mastiff or some other massive horse dog hybrid. She is absolutely gorgeous, sweetest little pup ever, I'm excited she is mine now because she can finally have a good life and she deserves it. But I've never had a dog before. Ever, in my life. I've never had to take care of a dog on my own. I don't know what food to get, what collars are good, how much should she be walked, nothing. By the grace of god, she somehow seems to be house trained already, she spent a night in my house and would go to the door when she needed out and wait patiently for me so that is awesome. But I literally don't even know what to feed her. What's good dog food? Is there a difference between them? Should I make the house more like baby proofed so she can't get into anything? Should she have like a bunch of toys just a couple? Should I try to just leave things as is in here and let her get used to things? What should I teach her to do? How do you teach a dog anything? I really have no clue what to do. My dad raised wolves and wolf dogs and those are very different from an oversized puppy I think so I'm really at a loss.

There are a couple of ways of doing it, probably the more liberal approach is to smack to over the head with a newspaper roll and shout 'NO' very loud in the dog's ear.

Probably the better and much more effective method is to beat it with a stick, could be a branch or even a baseball bat. Chokeholds work too, but the point is you are trying to teach it that you are it's master and it must obey you no matter what.

A good way to think about it, is if you have children when they are naughty you whip em with the good old leather belt. And that disciplines them to the point where once you do it they don't f*ck with you again. You have to make them remember the pain.....Well same principle with dogs except dogs have much better pain tolerance than human beings, so you have to go a little harder on em, but works like a charm.
Please remember there is a difference between abuse and discipline, it's only abuse if you hit them for no reason.

Got an email today from my neighbor asking about my pit bull. He is 5 yrs old and belonged to my fiance. About 2 years ago he gave him away. We recently got him back because his new owners weren't taking care of him properly. Ex. we got called twice from shelter saying the dog had gotten out of yard along with the other dogs in that home. He is a gentle giant. Once home he got along with my havanese and my cat. My pit doesn't charge/bark at them or anything. He ignores them and just lays around all day. The issue I do have with him is that he pulls and with some dogs he will bark and charge at them. I am enrolling him in training classes that begin next Monday. Back to my neighbor. We live in a 4 unit condo building. She hasn't seen him yet and I've had him for almost 3 weeks. My neighbors downstairs have 2 service dogs. She emailed saying she was hoping this was only temporary because they don't want to encounter him in the hallways and she is worried about him lashing out at the other 2 dogs. I emailed her back letting her know that I understand her concern, but my dog is friendly with humans and we are working on him being more calm around other dogs. My dog is always leashed and whenever we take him out we make sure no one is in the hallway or the other dogs aren't going out at the same time. She emailed me back saying that this is worrisome for her that pit bulls are known to have aggression and that since he is old he will be hard to train, etc. etc. WTH!

I recently got a new lesson who came from another barn and told me she was almost ready to start jumping, but her first lesson she could just barely trot! she argues with me quite a bit on everything and insists that she wants to move up and i want to help her get there, but she just thinks she's much better than she is and i've had people come up to me and tell me that she's asked THEM if she can start jumping whenever i say no. she might be able to start cantering soon, but the main issue of mine is that she's very behind the motion. her leg swings forward at the trot and she almost looks as if she's posting back instead of straight up. i've told her to bring her leg back and have showed her multiple times where it should be, and we practice no stirrup posting at the walk and sitting trot most lessons, but every time i tell her her leg is getting too far forward she argues with me and tries to tell me that it's not. do you guys have any exercises to bring her leg back and her body forward a bit?
