• How far can one safely drive alone in one day?

Next year, after I graduate from college, I m thinking about moving out of state (Wisconsin to Florida) probably by car and I was wondering how long can I drive in one day without having to stay overnight at someplace.

  • Is 10k enough to move to New York city?

Best answer: That's a pretty vague question. Is that $10k before or after you pay movers to move your stuff? Do you have a job lined up? If so, how much does that pay? If not, what are you qualified to do and what does that pay? Do you have roommates lined up or do you plan on renting on your own? Do you know how much... show more

Do you have a job lined up? If so, how much does that pay? If not, what are you qualified to do and what does that pay?
Do you have roommates lined up or do you plan on renting on your own? Do you know how much an apartment costs? What borough do you want to live in? That also affects the price.
First and last month's rent, and any other move-in expenses are going to suck up a lot of that money very quickly, even more quickly if you are spending a couple hundred a night for a hotel while you look for a place if you don't have one lined up.
The longer you go without a job, the more you are going to eat into whatever you have left.

There are many people I know who have traveled so much in their lives, and I envy them. I rarely ever get to travel, but I have been to 17 U.S states (California [my home state], Washington, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Ohio, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, New Jersey, Delaware, New York, Florida, and Hawaii) + D.C, 1 Canadian province (British Columbia), and 1 Mexican state (Baja California). I have been dreaming of traveling to Europe or Australia, but I question whether that's ever going to happen in my life, as nobody in my family can seem to afford it. How do these "world travelers" get to travel so much? I am so envious and would love to know the secret. I'm 19 and I really want to be an adventurer. Please respond and tell me what I need to do to make my dreams come true.

Hi, my family and I are thinking of emigrating to the US but haven't decided yet on which state to move to. We have more than enough money saved so that we can go to any state and live somewhat comfortable until we get jobs etc. I'd also need to think about my children (I have 3) two of which will need to go to secondary school (or High school as its called in the US). The reason why I'm thinking about different states first is because it's important that I decide which one to move to. Oh and I already know about visas etc so we're eligible for some of them since there's all different kinds.
