Is my girlfriend a bad mother?  What do I do? ?

So me and my girlfriend got a surprise last year.  A positive pregnancy test. We have a beautiful son.  He’s often fussy but he’s just an amazing little guy.  Anyways.  I work during the day to support all of us and she stays home with the baby. She breastfeeds so there’s a big plus.  And she’s a pretty cool girl in general. But she has zero patience with the baby. As I said he is often fussy but I’m convinced at this point it’s because he’s still hungry.  She only feeds him maybe 5-10 minutes at a time. And as soon as I get home she sets him in my lap and disappears to the bedroom until bedtime. When me and the baby come to bed, only feeding him when I insist there is nothing more I can do to settle him down. Now we’ve hit a point where, because we took him to the hospital one night when he would not stop crying and she insisted he wouldn’t eat. . . The doctors found nothing wrong wth him but gave him infant Tylenol just in case. Now she wants to give him Tylenol all the time.  He has a perceived dairy and soy intolerance (Mostly because that’s the default for fussy babies who are fed enough and his diapers are a bit slimy) and she continues eating dairy and soy.  Now I can’t keep letting her feed our baby Tylenol when he’s crying because honestly I think he is just starving (He’s 5 months old now and needs to eat more)  when I imply his problem is that he is hungry she threatens to leave me. I don’t want to lose him over it but I also need to keep him safe. Serious advice?

Is it wrong not to tell in-laws baby has been born?

My in-laws are very ... intrusive and like to tell you what you’re doing wrong. I of course want them to meet our baby but I want just 1 week after I give birth for just my husband and I to bond with our baby. My mother is going to help but it’s my mom and I’m comfortable with her seeing my bits and all... I just don’t want them to come while I’m in labor which they will if they know. Is this wrong?

I’m very introverted and want the healing process to be very private.

Newborn acts like she has been breast fed before?

Okay this is very weird I have a 2 week old granddaughter and when she cries for to be fed she seem to be looking for a breast instead, she moves her head like she’s looking for a nipple. I have been noticing that ever since after she was born. The only person that ever fed her was the nurse at the hospital in the nursery. This is very strange behavior for her cause I know my daughter have never breast fed her before. Any suggestions to why she looks for a breast.

Mother in law wants to baby sit?

My 6 month girl has been baby sat a few times by the in laws. I put a stop to the baby sitting after I started feeling this overwhelming anger every time she offered to baby sit. It’s an uncontrollable anger, I don’t know what sparks it.

It’s just hard for me because then I have to pump multiple bottles and I don’t have much milk supply as it is. She doesn’t take to formula, and she only has small solids at the moment.

I trust that they will take good care of her, and they love her a lot. And I’m dying for a break, and sleep. But what is it within me that despises her every time she offers to babysit?

Should I try to let go of my “anger” and just let them baby sit? Am I rude for not letting her baby sit?

He left me with a new born baby?

He left me because I pick the name for our daughter and he got upset because I didn't use his idea. I already have post partum and I feel really bad. He says since I didn't use his idea I should take care of the baby by myself and we are not going to be together. I feel depressed and I have suicidal thoughts. I sent him a message but he didn't open it...should I just leave him alone?

Can consumption of alcohol be harmful if you’re breast feeding ?

I’m too embarrassed to ask my OBGYN doctor about this and I’m certainly not going to ask our newborns pediatrician, however I was wondering if alcohol consumption can effect your child while breast feeding and would it be harmful?

It’s feels like a relief that I can finally drink again after being pregnant for what feels like forever but at the same time I don’t want to cause any harm to my baby.

Question for women who had babies mid 30s?

    Favorite Answer:

I had my last child when I was 42.  No, I did not feel too old to be having a kid.  I'm 48 now and he turns 6 tomorrow. I have far more energy with him than I did with my first, born when I was 24.

I honestly don't know the ages of the other parents at school, nor do I care. They don't seem to care, either.  Besides, what's the point of worrying?  You can't change your age or the ages of the parents around you.  Even if someone judged you on your age, it would reflect on them, not you.  But 37 is a totally normal age to be having a child, and there will be PLENTY of other parents right in your age range when your kid starts school.

    My baby swallowed a Qtip?

My 18 month old ate a Qtip. I took her to the ER and they sent me away and said wait 3 or 4 days. I called the pediatrician and he also wasn't concerned. It was not the cardboard one - it was plastic. Its been 4 days and hasn't come out. I don't know what to do..

Can American hospital legally keep mom and baby for 24 hours after birth? ?

    Hi

My question is can American hospitals legally not discharge a mom and her baby for at least 24 hours after birth when there has been no complication and the baby was born healthy? Yes its recommended by the American system to hold mom there for a min of 24 hours after birth who have had no complication at birth which I find riculous when there's no reason to stay that lengh of time unless the mom wants to.Can they legally say you have to stay the minimum of 24 hours though?

That's all I want to know.Especially if you have had 3 other childbirth with no complication and had 2 home birth where there no history of complications.I don't see myself unless the baby at birth has problems that they do have a right to say they won't discharge you just cause they want to check if nothing were to happen that's not validating a proper reason to hold a mom there if she wants to go home.I come from a different country that let's you go home same day even hours after having birth if there's nothing wrong with you or baby that they don't hold you there for a min of 24hours when they got no reasons to as there's nothing wrong with the baby so therefore there's nothing for them to observe with the baby so they discharge you.I'm having a baby in over a week and I'm in the United Kingdom but married to an American here in England and I'm having to use the American hospital ( military base) because its the nearest to where we live

Is having a baby worth it?

I see babies at the store and i’m like aww, but then I see videos where babies smear poop all over their crib and I’m conflicted. I can’t handle poop or vomit.
