Best answer: YOU pay for your school expenses: tuition, fees, books, equipment, supplies, etc. And you pay all your personal expenses: health insurance, housing, meals, transportation, clothing & laundry, personal toiletries & grooming, etc. Quite likely you will have to pay all the expenses of your dissertation research & production.

Very few sources of research grants for master's or doctoral level thesis, dissertation research. There are some foundations, depending on your citizenship and field of study. Your research for your master's thesis should have gained some attention from your international professional society. E.g. invitation to present your findings at professional society symposia, or publication in peer-reviewed professional society publications.

Your original research for your master's thesis is going to be the basis for your doctoral research - and for choosing which professors you want as your teachers & mentors, therefore which universities you want to go to. It's the basis for researching foundation grants for research grants.

What's your citizenship? What's your field of study, and what, specifically, is your research focus within that field? What govt & corporate-sponsored foundations fund research grants in that area? Who is doing what research in that area? Are they interested in the research you are doing? Do you think they would take you on as their graduate research assistant if you went to their university, took their courses? A job as their research assistant might help cover some school and/or living expenses. Otherwise, you are strictly prohibited from working while on a student visa. Only a part-time on-campus position might qualify.

You give us NO relevant details whatsoever, so there is NO way anyone can help you with your funding search. You have to have the research skills - not just in the lab, but internet research skills, searching the professional literature in your field, etc.

Getting funding for your dissertation research does NOT generally include any of your school or personal/living expenses.

  • Ill be 18 in two months and want to travel and work abroad in Australia, im currently an apprentice electrician. Any advice?

Best answer: (1) Wait until you're done with our apprenticeship.
    (2) Search for a job that seeks electricians for a contract. This way, you aren't stuck without income.
    (3) Strongly research the area, people, and politics prior to going. Being an American automatically places you at risk in certain countries.

Hey guys So I'm 19 turning 20, living with parents, studying full time as well as working a casual job. Ever since I started receiving my pay checks my parents were insisting I pay $100 for them to put into the mortgage. I understand now that I'm earning an income I should help my parents relieve some mortgage stress, especially because I'm living under their roof. However I'm somewhat reluctant to pay up because: - Even though I worked a lot during the holidays and managed to save up, I only get about 200-350 a week nowadays because of uni - I'd rather be as financially independent as I can (I already pay for my phone bill, transport, textbooks, any other uni related fees, clothing, uni food) and I'd hate to ask my parents for money in the future, considering how unstable a casual job is - I want to save up for exchange study and other abroad programs which is like $20k at the very least?? Basically my parents' reasoning is that if I contribute now, they'll have to pay off less interest and when I need extra funds in the future for study etc. they'll help me out.. but I expect myself to save up enough money without their help? Tldr; Parents want me to pay $100/week but I want to be independent + casual job is unstable and want to save up for study abroad

So long story short I don't have any problems with my cousin but we're also not really that close, I was planning to move to Paris to finish my master degree then work and settle there for a few years and now he's going there this summer to study and apparently also to try and settle and now I feel like everything is ruined for me because I've been planning for this for at least two years and one of the main reasons I wanted to go there besides the fact that it's one of my favorite cities and I can speak French is to be alone in a place where no one knows who I am. What do you think ? Is there a chance that I won't be seeing him much even though we'll be in the same city?
