Best answer: Those who go around and say that a certain martial arts sucks are not even worth listening. That one ignorant statement shows that that person has no knowledge about martial arts. When someone claims that Taekwondo sucks, ask them what their background in martial arts is. Then remind them that numerous MMA fighters have backgrounds in Taekwondo holding numerous ranks, a few have even held titles in MMA.

If you come across anyone who says Taekwondo sucks, ask this. Ask what their experience in martial arts is. If they give you an answer of how tough they are and how they "beat-up" a lot of people, then chances you are dealing with a keyboard warrior, who should not be listened. Those tend to act tough online and little to no actual experience with martial arts.

An opponent of mine who has been practicing karate for only two years wanted to do a sanctioned, amateur fight in the local tournament area. I agreed. He's been practicing really hard, whereas I haven't put as much effort into training besides light exercise. Would it be okay for me to eat some McDonald's because the fight is tomorrow or would that really hinder my performance?

So why are so many people afraid of fighting? I see so many questions asked by people about "what martial art is best for blah blah blah" and people who talk about their "experience" like they've been in more fights than any of Bruce lee's movie characters. And for the record, no, I have not been in very many fights. I just don't get why people are as afraid of it as they are. In all my years of high school when all the testosterone is really high and the maturity is really low, I only saw/heard about maybe 10 fights (out of nearly 3,000 students at my high school)

I trained bjj and muay thai for 3 years and recently, because of work, I moved to another city. My old club was very physical and active. It was family owned and the kids of the head trainers had classes there. You had fitness, technique, sparring all in one and it was overall a very good place. I would love to find a place like that again but it has proven to be difficult. Some places are just too expensive, taking $250/month, like this krav maga place I tried. I also tried boxing but it was more like fitness boxing then actual boxing. I tried karate but I didn't feel like that was my thing. There were a lot of kata's and it wasn't very physical. I tried a couple of "street martial arts" as they called it which was designed for fighting with knives, fighting dirty and things like that. Then there was the TKD place that was more like a day care center for kids. I'm just starting to realize that I won't find what I had before. It's very hard to find a place where you can go and get a workout, you can spar, you can learn techniques and you can hang out with cool people. I don't know what to do. Is it better to train at something that is not optimal rather than nothing?

  • Okay so like jew and asian fight?

Best answer: The US Armed Forces would say Israeli fighting is more effective than kung fu. Personally, I say practice all kinds of martial activities/styles. I would list kung fu at the bottom of that list.
