Sponge Toffee?

I have many recipes for Sponge Toffee. Some recipes call for white sugar and some call for brown. Which is best and WHY ?

    In toffee I prefer brown sugar.

    It is caramelized and goes well with toffee. The flavors blend into a very delicious combination.
